I have a Canon A-1 with a Tokina ATX 28-135 IF Zoom lens I was looking to sell soon.

Contact me if interested and include your email address if you'd like me to send you some pictures. This was Canon's Flagship in the A series line-up. I used it for action shots like Karate, Drag Racing and Hockey.

The most important feature you will need to look at is the exposure 'delay' or 'lag time', the time delay from pressing the shutter to getting the shot. Most dSLR's have very short delays (I would suggest a dSLR as soon as feasible), but compacts traditionally have a problem. This article gives you some of the fastest: http://www.cnet.com.au/digitalcameras/cameras/0,239036184,339271492,00.htm

It's a shame you don't have a slightly larger budget. Even a basic dSLR would give you extremely quick response, faster frames per second, and with their larger sensor, much better photos.

Also, check the reviews at www.dpreview.com.

i just recently bought a jvc camcorder for around 600 dollars and even that didnt seem like quite enough. 200 dollars will not buy u anything of good or even moderately low quality. if i were u i would try to save a couple hundred more, and purchase a sony or jvc. but i would DEFINATELY recomend one that saves ur work to the camera itself as opposed to a dvd, mini dv, or tape.
