Hi joanna i -- it's not a good thing. Human food has more and more additives - stuff to extend the 'shelf life', colorants, preservatives, artificial this & that, and lots of salt. Good quality dog food will help keep your dog healthier.

Depends on what you mean by "human food"...if you mean prepared foods or junk foods, then NO! A dog's stomach does not work the same way as a human's and much of the junk we stuff in our mouths can cause gas, stomach upset and digestive problems in dogs! On the other hand, a homeopathic vet put one of my dogs on a "natural diet" comprised entirely of "people food"! The base of the food was cooked rice or oatmeal, add some raw or cooked meat (preferably turkey or chicken), and add some veggies (carrots, celery, spinach, whatever he'd eat...I usualy steamed them to make them easier to chew). If you eat healthy like this (e.g., grilled chicken breast on rice with steamed veggies), then you might be able to share with your dog or just include him in the meals, especially if you both take your vitamins. Just don't include your dog when you decide to splurge on a half gallon of rocky road, a box of Little Debbies, or a plate of fried onion rings!

Actually no but it won't hurt it so long as he gets plenty of meat and vegetables. But try to get it started on a GOOD dog food as soon as possible because a balanced human food diet will cost boocoo bucks in the long run

The thing about feeding any pet table scraps is that animals tend to become accustom to a certain kind of food.
Aside from the health reasons, if you feed your dog table scraps all the time, he/she may come to rely and prefer table food and then you may have a hard time feeding them their dog food. Dog foods are specially formulated to give the dog the nutrients that he/she needs. I would shy away from the table food and stick with dog food.
I also know that pets seem to have sensitive stomachs and that when they go from eating one type of food to another that you have to carefully transition because they can get stomach aches. I know this applies to going from one brand to another brand of food, but I'm not sure that it applies to going between dog food and people food, although I would think that it does.
I hope this helps.

No, It's best if they eat a high quality dog food or raw feeding program. Eating people food will result in begging, food stealing weight gain and very stinky gas.

No, it is not healthy for dogs to eat table food. But, the don't necessarily have to eat dog food. I have a friend who feeds her dog chicken necks, egg shells and raw meat. Apparently, it is a very healthy diet for dogs.

Depends. Are you feeding him a raw food diet, or are you talking about pizza and meatball subs. Dogs shouldn't be eating junk food. It causes obesity which is the cause of many many problems.

I think it depends greatly on the kind of food, and how the dog gets a hold of it. If the food isn't harmful to dogs, and you give it to them purposely, I think that in moderation, it's probably not a problem.
