cindy---it god's will that you became sick though.......why are you fighting against his will? If god wants you to get sick and die shouldn't you?

cinderella-----my previous comment was directed at cindy but allow me to say that the religious continue to argue that EVERYTHING is part of god's plan....therefore, so is getting sick.....you can't have it both ways.

oso----i'm saddened that you are ill......but i'll just stick to generalizations as opposed to commenting on individual cases........I'm not religious myself (surprise...LOL) and certainly endorse getting whatever health care is available.......I sincerely wish you the best and most comfortable life that you can have considering.

Because they are afraid or maybe they have a feeling of guilt..Now if you knew you had a horrible disease that could be slowed down so you didn't become a burden to others for years because you would live a long time and not die..Would you take something in that case?
I ask that because I am in that boat .. I have MS I tried to do things of a more natural nature but only to find out that I needed more or I could end up in a skilled nursing home
possibly before the age of 55...oh I have 5 children ..So what is your take on that? I am curious.... Too bad they wont let Dr.Kovorkian practice his assisted suicide because if I were ever to be in really bad shape I would not want to be here !

Despite the solace of hypocritical religiosity and its seductive promise of an after-life of heavenly bliss, most of us will do anything to thwart the inevitable victory of biological death.
— Jack Kevorkian
Nobody has ever taken notable pains to locate the legendary heaven; but probably that is because nobody ever thought seriously of going to a heaven.
— E. Haldeman-Julius
Heaven, as conventionally conceived, is a place so inane, so dull, so useless, so miserable, that nobody has ever ventured to describe a whole day in heaven, though plenty of people have described a day at the seaside."
— Misalliance, Preface
The human mind is inspired enough when it comes to inventing horrors; it is when it tries to invent a Heaven that it shows itself cloddish.
— Evelyn Waugh (1903-1966)

because not everything that people go to a doctor for could have lead to death. God might just not be done with them. If it was their time to go, then God could take them despite being helped by a doctor.

Who says it is God's will for me to get sick? If I have free will, which I believe I do, I just choose to seek what God wants from my life, but I still have the ability to screw up, then wouldn't it be my choice if say, I went out and had sex with someone and got AIDS. Because having sex with someone aside from my husband is sin. So I would have chosen sin, and with it the consequences.
Jeremiah 29:11 " For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"
God's will is not for anyone to be sick. Since Adam, we as people have chosen our own way, but that is not the way it is supposed to be. And before you get off on things like Cancer and things of that nature, sometimes people get cancer out of their own lifestyle choices, i.e. smoking, extremely unhealthy eating, etc. Medicine has proven this already. Some of it is just the break down of our bodies, and I do think things like toxins, pesticides, and our environment contribute to these things.
Again I say, not every sickness leads to death. Some just incapacitate us for a while. God also calls me to take care of my family while I am on this earth. I can't do that if I am in bed with the flu.

Good Morning Storm.... I don't believe that God intends anyone to become ill or inflicted with a disease. We blame God because we cannot understand why this occurs such as disease and illness's and other issues but why blame God? God had a plan that one is born, lives their life accordingly to His plan, one dies, so another can be born. God helps those who help themselves. If God didn't want some of these diseases to be discovered or cured then why did He create man/woman with the knowledge of "thinking/learning"? God didn't create man to have an easy way of life, God placed obstacles and winding roads in our lives so we as His children could discover new things and make our own choices in life, He wasn't going to make life easy. So, since humans have the knowledge to learn we have Dr's and scientists that can explore and discover new ways of medicine to assist us in our illness's and disease to where it prolongs life so when God wants us, His children to come home, He will call upon us. God knows when the time has come, we become sick with normal illness's such as colds and flu's and your childhood diseases but God didn't, I don't believe, had intended to send us home due to these issues. I can't believe that God brought forth Cancer or ALS or Heart Disease, these health problems were do from our environment and hereditary and what man has created himself in industries, factories and the invention of cigars and cigarettes and alcohol and others alike. Man has inflicted a lot of these diseases on himself. So again, why blame God? When God placed us (His children) on this earth, he made life a challenge. He wanted us to figure out a lot of our problems for ourselves and I believe the discovery of medicine was one of those challenges. God will let us go as far as He will let us. Some things cannot be changed which is death. God knows the time. Have a Blessed day!

God gave us doctors for both believers and unbelievers alike. Believe me, if it's your time to go, there is nothing medical science can do to stop it from happening.
There is nothing wrong with going to a doctor. Our bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and we are to take care of our bodies as if it were God's Temple.
When God's temple was here on Earth, the Jews numerous times hired masons and carpenters to repair it. Did God condemn them for this? No. The same with our bodies, we need to keep them in good repair until God calls us home, and He has provided us with skilled medical professionals to do this.

We can not take a breath outside of the will of GOD. We are on our way home to Heaven. I do not wish to stay here one second more then I am due. I do however pray for as comfortable ride as possible on the way.

I can't imagine anything as peaceful as eternal nothingness . obviously if people can't get along on earth they can't get along in heaven maybe it's just something within the individual that compensates for the hell on earth already but as for after life why would anyone believe in an oximoron as life after death ?

God works through people, circumstances, it is just part of living on this earth. When is time to go, we go. When God wants us to grow, he puts us in situations where we learned the desired lesson to mature.
