I'm not Wiccan anymore--I'm Pagan, which is somewhat different--but Wicca was my gateway into trying to learn older Pagan ways.
I have to say what initially attracted me was the respect for women (not just Goddesses, but living *women*), the idea of balance, and the idea that words can manifest into reality.

i was wiccan and still sort of am but i don't follow it to a t. i don't like religions that are overly structured which drove me away from christianity. well that and the fact that christianity has a very violent, hypocriticial history of intolerance.
i went to wicca because it was much more loose in it's guidelines, it worships a female goddess (which i like for some reason) and i've always been in love with the occult and such which wicca firmly embraces and is even sort of based on.
i also love how wicca is soo tolerant of other religions and peoples.

I also was Wiccan, but am no longer, now being some variance of Pagan. Quite honestly, what First attracted me to it: It wasn't Christianity. Then I looked into it more and decided that I liked enough to give it a whirl*. So I did. Then I saw Goddess. And She has led me to where I am today : )
*Reasons among others: not chauvinistic, made more sense

I was an atheist, until I got kicked upside the head by my gods. I ended up going to a reputable spiritual teacher to sort myself out and she was Wiccan.
I could've gone recon, and if she'd been that, probably would have, and, like, the adf grove of adf groves is near my house, so I grew up around druids....but I was, and am, happy Wiccan, although I consider myself an HR, too.
