First stop should be your family doctor. They will weigh you and talk about your work situation. If it is determined that you are too stressed to work, you will need them to write you a note for your employer.

If your company has an EAP (employee assistance program) with free confidential counselling, you should take advantage of that. Even though you may have dealt well with stress in the past, they may be able teach you new ways of coping with issues.

If you are going to take time off work (with your doctor's blessing), you should prepare yourself for what you will say when (1) your boss calls you at home, (2) you bump into a co-worker or your boss while you are out shopping for groceries, (3) a potential employer asks you why you are not working right now and whether he can contact your current employer. A good counsellor can help you to deal with these situations as well.

Good luck. I hope things work out well for you.

Take a vacation. They may just not think you need to be told you are doing a good job since everyone knows you are. Don't worry about work the worse that can happens is they go out of business and you have to find a new job.
Go ask for a raise tomorrow, explain you have taken on a lot and deserve a raise.
If work is too busy to take a vacation schedule on for the week after labor day so you have something to look forward to and they have time to plan you being gone.

You are to be praised for sticking in there while under such a strain...it's always best if you can to get your new job lined up before you stop this one......so you won't go without pay ....hopefully you can get some time off in between jobs......it's so hard now days to pay bills and take care of your basic needs...You have all the signs of "burn out".....some businesses are just like what you said.....not very caring or personal...just "get the job done" attitude....I hope the next job you get you will be treated with kindness and appreciation....Try and get a hold of yourself...when you get home from work treat yourself to personal things....like taking a long soaking bath with sweet smelling soap...etc....stop and get some good fast food like Asian food...they make some great dishes that are healthy....then you don't have to cook for yourself.....if you live near a mall there are places inside that give massages....check that out too.....treat yourself to some good things....at the department stores the make up counter technicians will give you a makeover....do that one day this week....work on yourself in your off times from work....so you gain back your mental and physical energy....you must be strong to get from A to B...from the old to the new job....
I wish you the very best....hugs from Mama Jazzy Geri
