Climbed under my truck and removed my 7 pin adapter and plugged it into his truck...same type adapter. This then adapts down to a 4 way flat connector for my trailer. He wanted to borrow my trailer but the lights will not work. When he starts his truck we actually do get running lights but nothing else...no stop, no turn....please help! Is there some sort of adapter that is needed on the 2006 that is different than my 2004?

Common problem His truck either does not have trailer tow package and aftermarket hitch. Or the two or three relays have not been installed. first black box lift the cover up behind the battery needs a blue trailer tow #2 and brown relay (trailer power) and under the dash above the hood release is another blue relay location trailer tow#1 relay to get that one the lower dash two screws come out and unsnap the gray plastic cover look for a white 4 wire plug just above the hood release. Better yet just trade trucks and replace those relays buy a rear trailer harness and get him fixed up for the next time. Your 2004 has three relays in that box his takes two there and the one under the dash...

there shouldn't be any difference in the two trucks as far as the wiring goes back there, compare the two harnesses, and see if they have the identical same wires on them, they may have changed something that I'm not aware of,but as far i knew they was the same, and should work, but be sure and count and compare the wires, they may have changed them, good luck with it,hope this helps.
