* Origami paper cranes
* Rocks and candles
* Sand and candles
* Get silk flowers from a dollar store and florist tape them onto Bic pens and stick them in a flower pot.
* Potted Ivy.
* Fishbowls with two fan tail fish and some marbles.
* You can make silk roses by saran wrapping two Hershey kisses and taping in on florist wire and then covering it with a 2"X3" piece of satin to make it look like a rose bud (email me for instructions. It looks great 12-36 to a base, depending on the size of the vase or even two to a skinny vase.

You can get clear glass bowls at various crafts stores or dollar stores. Get some blank business cards (most office supplie stores have them and are inexspensive) and small pencils (there are many places that sell various colored instead of the orange/yellow), or you can buy bags of Bic pens, again not very expensive. Also you can get pencils that write in your wedding colors. On paper, say similar to your invitations, using the same or similar font, write, creatively, what advice do you have for (enter you and your groom's names) for a good marraige, also asking them to sign it. This can be done on your computer. Type it once and print out however many copies you want. Also, when the sheet of business cards are still in tact, you can type you and your groom's name at the top. Check your computer for that program if don't already have one. Avery brand is very common. With both the "Advice" papers and the response cards, you can choose the color you want for the lettering, like your wedding colors.
Get some baby's breath to put in the bowls (They don't need water), then add the paper asking the questions, and scatter the response cards and pencils on each table. Make sure the "Advice" paper is very visible. (you can also buy cheap, but nice looking Brandy snifters of various sizes and it works just as well) You'll have your centerpiece and keepsakes from your guests. I don't know how you feel about confetti, but with the right colors, you can put some in the bowls or brandy snifters to add color, as well as scatter some on each table, again, adding color to the tables. If you do use confetti, make sure some gets "Stuck" to the baby's breath. It is a nice effect. I helped my brother-in-law and his wife put together their wedding and reception. They had a tight budget. The effect of this was beautiful, they received some great advice, along with some funny respones, but they loved having these keepsakes!!!!!

Did you know you can run vellum through a laser printer? Wrap candle containers in printed vellum, and you're set. Do a cluster of three. These could be pictures, or stripes, or dots, or use your wedding icon (if you have one) or just initials.
OR, get one monstera leaf (it's huge) and place little candles around that. Monteras are not that expensive, but most people have never seen one. It's between the size of a dinner plate and a placemat...no not the kind of thing you've seen in a typical flower arrangement.
OR, if you're open to a super-modern look, get California Crystals from a flower market. You add water and make gel (looks like crushed ice). The gel can be illuminated with submersible lights, like FloralLytes.
OR, get potted plants, like little flowering azaleas, and wrap the pots with meshy stiff fabric and a good quality ribbon. There is a strawlike mesh on the market in lots of colors. For this to look nice, and not cheap, you must use a stiff fabric.
OR, wrap two stacked boxes with sheet moss (available in floral supply places). You can just cut and staplegun the stuff, it's so cool! Wrap raffia around the boxes, like ribbon on a present. Put one lily or gerber on top of the stack.
I've also had clients do mini cakes, displayed on a glass block on each table. (You, know, those glass blocks you see at Home Depot?)
If your tables are long, you can run assorted ribbons down the tables, sort of in a fluffy jumbled stripe. Use eBay for the ribbon. Get some wired, for sure. Do not use that cheap floral ribbon, with its weird razor-sharp edges!
In addition to eBay, I recommend save-on-crafts for supplies.

aside from the customary flowers, fruits are also very unique centerpieces. If you have a themed wedding, choose fruits that go with the theme. I went to a wedding once, and they incorporated bunches of grapes, shiny red apples, berries, and oranges on the centerpieces. It looked really festive and bountiful! It was fun picking the fruits from the centerpieces, too...coz it wasnt just a decoration. It was meant to be eaten as well...
congratulations!!

I went to the coolest wedding ever you know when you are seated it's table # what ever well my girlfriends wedding instead of a number you entered a whole new country. I was seated in Ghana and the center piece was a bowl used by natives of the land. So I thought it was true because that is what the place card said and every table had a whole education theme and it was beautiful Now when I first walked in I was like why don't the tables match but once you knew what was going on it was the most beautiful thing. and she used knock pieces of art but it had the same theme

my suggestions:
--cherubs , ivy and hurricane lamps just use a large potted english ivy, w. many trailing vines this is beautiful but lack height then just insert medium ceramic cherubs spray paint it w. gold put them on a thin dowel and and insert them into the ivy groups of three over this place a large hurricane globe..in the center of these cherubs (inside the hurricane globes) add a large pillar candle.it will be spectacular!
---or why not do something that fits the personality of the couple? why not Beer Bottles???? just take a beer bottle and clean the labels off. Then use spray glue and sprinkle extra fine iridescent white glitter over the entire bottle. It will give them a frosted look... also make ur own "beer" labels with the picture, name, and wedding date and glue them to the front of the bottle. tie a light silver ribbon to the mouth of the bottle and insert glow sticksor use candles...

we went to the craft store and bought small, decorative, glass bowls (for about $1 a piece) then we filled the bottoms of them with glass beads in our wedding colors (half red, half white) We filled the bowls about 3/4 of the way with water and put a floating candle in each one. They ended up looking really nice. I think our total cost was about $70 for thirty. At the reception we had alternating red and white table clothes and we put the opposite color centerpiece on each table. :)

Go w/ centerpieces that are mainly candles. Candles are a little bit cheap, yet still elegant.
Use some flowers, but not too many. Personally, I hate centerpieces w/ too many flowers. They just are soo overdone and very tacky.

Well depends your theme, there are tons of places where you can find cheap flowers, also you can use something very pretty yet not expenssive like a vase (small) with either a small flower arraingment with tea candles around...or maybe there is some cast iron stands (candle holders) and you can hang tea lights with some seasonal florwers that tend to be cheaper.

My colors were apple green and fuchsia so I decided to work with the apple green.
I got large vases from Hobby Lobby (a craft store that always puts their glassware 1/2 price). I got ribbon to put around the vases. Then I got "crystal" glass pieces to put in the bottom of the vases. Then we put about 3 granny smith apples in each vase, and filled them with water. We got the apples from Meijer, and since we bought so many, they gave us a break on the price.
I also pinned my place cards to apples which was cute.
Anyways, whatever your colors are you could work with fruit in your centerpieces. For my case, it was definitely cheaper than flowers.
Best wishes!
