How can you replace a bose system with a regular in dash cd player in a 2002 maxima?

Im wanting to put either a sony or pioneer cd player in my maxima so that I can hook up my subs but im not sure if you can do it with it having a factory bose system in it already. If so is there a website where i can find out how to do it myself

I did the same thing in a Pathfinder a few days ago, so it shouldn't be a problem. You'll need a Nissan mounting kit, wire harness, and antenna adapter; any car audio store or electronics store should be able to supply them. I'd also recommend a device called a premium sound adapter, like the NE-684V on this page: http://www.davidnavone.com/adaptor_products.htm

Just follow the instructions in the mounting kit for removing the old radio and mounting the new one, and follow the instructions with the premium sound adapter and Nissan wire harness for the wiring. You don't have to do anything special with most Nissan Bose systems.

Well you should be able to hook it up easy, Are you planning on putting new speakers in as well? if not heres how you can do it, First you take the trim off so you can get the stock radio out, unscrew it pull it out look at the plugs and either use a flat head screw driver to lift up on the plastic connecters ( becareful not to break ) and then pull them apart and if your new one fits them then plug it up and if it dont your gonna have to either cut the wires and just wire it straight togather ( cut them, strip the ends and then twist the car wires to the stereo wires, they should be labled if not the same color ) or take it to a shop and ask if they have a connector to match the ones on your stock stereo so you can put them on the new one and just plug it up and put everything back to gather, its really quite simplke and easy to figure out , i learned pretty much by myself when i was 16
