It really bugs me. They ask.."why do you believe in heaven"..but they say "don't use the Bible" lol.

I haven't seen a comic book yet, that could hold a mirror up to the reader and reveal truth to him.

It's because they're afraid what we say is actually true.

It takes more faith to believe that evolution, the big bang, and science worked this all out by an accidental coincidence than to believe that a God made the earth...

And yet you Christians have an excuse for EVERY contradiction in the bible.

Tell me, why in almost 2000 years, hasn't your god appeared to perform any of the miracles described in the bible? If he could do that, I'd accept the bible as proof in a second, as would the rest of the world I'm sure.

I'm not sure that unbelievers DO want answers to questions on Faith. It seems more likely that they are asking just for the sake of discussion. Maybe they want a discussion based on fact and documented scientific proof---the exact opposite of what Faith is. That usually brings about an impasse---Blessings.

You don't quite have it right. Yes, we don't want you to use the Bible, because the Bible is proof of nothing. As far as we're concerned, it was written by people, and not God, and then you based your religion on it. Considering you based your religion on it, OF COURSE it's going to say things that back up your beliefs.
What you don't quite have right is, we don't want answers on faith, either. We want answers based on evidence. Actual, real evidence.

For the same reason "believers" want us to explain Evolution, but we can't use DNA or fossil evidence, because those are planted, not proof. However, we have several separate sources to our beliefs, we are asking that you cite a source for your religion other than your bible. For instance, you take on faith that Noah's ark was real, we have only asked for scientific proof of a huge flood, OR the remains of said ark.

They want your personal opinion--why you personally chose to believe that particular thing and not another--not a quote that can easily be accessed at the library or online or even on their very own bookshelves. If someone asks me "Why are you Pagan?" or "Why do you believe in Gods?", I may fumble through, but I can answer the questions in my own words. It dismays people when they get numbers referring to verses, or long c/ps of the verses themselves, spat at them. What we want to get to know is the person underneath the religious clothes, if that makes sense.

because you need to prove the bible is true before you can us it prove anything else. people need to face the fact they cant prove god is real and others need to face he fact they cant prove he isnt. the sooner people come to terms with that the better off everyone will be. STOP try to prove yourself. its never going to work. be confident in what you believe in and that should be enough for you. if tis not then maybe you need to step back and question your belief system.

The christian bible is proof of nothing. In any event, what the asker wants to know is why you believe what you believe, not what you believe. Why you believe comes from you, not a book.

Because we can't give any credence to a book that gives absolutely no proof that it is anything but the fairy stories.

Call down fire to your water soaked alter, move a mountain with faith like a mustard seed. Give me evidence.

If the bible is proof of heaven, then comic books are proof of super heroes.
