Shouldn't this be a"government problem" seeing as how they are the ones that let this become the mess it is?

We do have laws against this....do we not?

Isn't it our governments responsibility to enforce our laws?

Shouldn't we hate our government for making this mess?

Sociald--

While I do agree with what you are saying...the root cause of the problem is our governments lack of enforcement of our laws.

They don't enforce it, because it doesn't benefit them to do so....If it was something this govt. saw as a real threat, they would enforce these laws....

Our government starts at the State local levels. States should have been enforcing the Federal laws rather than letting Federal government try to handle it at that level. Or at least start enforcing the laws when the federal government began to lose interest in doing their jobs on behalf of the American people.

We do not have any sort of immigration problem at all.
We do however have an illegal infestation. They are like rats fleeing a sinking ship or burning building, there home is doomed so they are leaving for another home. The problem is, just like other vermin, they will ruin their new home and make it like their first one.
The Government has not done their duty, they have been as effective in this fight as they are against cancer. Cancer starts out small and feeds off healty cells destroying them and making them become cancerous, just like the illegals are doing. The difference is we do not know how to defeat cancer, the laws and rules to defeat illegals is in place and they do know how to defeat the illegals; or Government is ignoring their duty.
Yes this was meant to be offensive, it is time to fight back, being called names in a language we don't speak, watching our flag be stomped on and drug through the dirt, and being threatend with a bleak future in which there is no room for us, it is time America quit worring about hurting feelings and stood up for itself. If the Government won't do their duty, then it is time the citizens stood together and did theirs on behalf of their children.
The illegals are trying to take over our country for their children, what about ours?

It is not an immigration problem. It is a government problem, since the government has spectacularly failed to enforce the law and secure the border. It is a problem with illegal aliens.
In my opinion, the immigration courts are not the ones who should be hearing cases regarding illegal aliens. The immigration courts should be focused on LEGAL immigrants. Illegal aliens should face criminal court. An Arkansas cop was shot and wounded by an illegal alien. ICE took custody of the illegal alien and in Tennessee an immigration judge accepted her voluntary deportation offer.
The problem is..she never reported to Mexico. They allowed her 3 months to leave and report to Mexico. After she shot a COP during a drug-related investigation.

Its a compounded problem and yes of course its a government problem. Not that that excuses the businesses from hiring them and not that it excuses the law breakers from coming here.
Just because we need to knock some government heads for not enforcing it doesnt mean its ok to do it.

And cora, I would say 4% is might mighty conservative of an estimate... easily twice that amount.

Because they didn't fill out the right paperwork ?

Turn off your computer and go read a book or something, try a newspaper as well.

People here illegally pay no taxes but cost us all millions when they get free health care as well as putting a drain on our schools. That's just a few reasons which I'm sure has your minuscule brain going ........huh what uhhh who where ?

Seriously get informed.

Yes, the federal government has failed to handle this long term problem. Luckily some states, including here in Oklahoma, they have passed legislation that will hopefully do what our federal government has failed to do.

yes it is the governments problem, however they don't seem to understand the problem. A friend emailed me this.

SAY I BROKE INTO YOUR HOUSE A lady wrote the best letter in the Editorials in ages!!! It explains things better than all the baloney you hear on TV.

Her point:

Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration.

Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder
to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely.

Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests. Let's say I break into your house. Let's say that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave.

But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors. I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest
(except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters:

You are Required to let me stay in your house You are Required to add me to your family's insurance plan You are Required to Educate my kids You are Required to provide other benefits to me & to my family (my husband will do all of your yard work because he is also hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part).

If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your
house carrying signs that proclaim my RIGHT to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm a hard-working and honest, person, except for well, you know, I did break into your house And what a deal it is for me!!!

I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of cold, uncaring, selfish, prejudiced, and bigoted behavior.

Oh yeah, I DEMAND that you learn MY LANGUAGE!!! so you can communicate with me. And don't forget to make sure your forms are in MY language - I need to understand them...

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?! Only in America .

CW--your point is valid and duly noted.

Securing our borders, enforcing our laws and policies and addressing the noncompliant employer would go a long way in starting to clean this mess up.

Local towns, municipalities and now some states are beginning to kick in to gear.

But we do have to continue to pressure our elected officials to act in accordance with the wishes of those they are elected to represent.

Well the government hasn't done enough to fix the problem. it is now up to the states, cities and counties to take care of the issue.

We should not have a problem, if the laws are enforced.
If we kept a tally on serious crimes by illegals, we would not be having this discussion.
