Some email products do not have the feature to send you a notification. If you are using a product such as Outlook or Outlook Express, you would have asked for a Delivery or Read Receipt when sending out the email.
If you can provide the specific email product you are using, more precise info could be made available.

The other answerer was a good one...In addition...if you have yahoo there is no way to determine if someone received it other than sending another email and asking....he sends you a reply OR you call him and ask..

There is a way. See a web site Didtheyreadit. follow the instructions but it is not free. Outlook has a feature that you can get a receipt back.
