first of all....STAY AWAY FROM CATHOLICISM!!!!! (that religion is not based on what the bible teaches!)
you need to read what the bible says about sin and forgiveness...you dont need to pray to a priest about things that are non of his business! all you need to do is pray to god by yourself...he is ALWAYS listening and he knows what you need before you even ask him!

When a Christian confesses his sin to God, he should be confessing out of shame for his wrong doing. The confession is not completely honest unless the person is willing to turn from that sin. This is called repentance. If there is no repentance, then the confession does not count and there is no forgiveness. It is plain and simple lying to God.
The Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians

yes...Jesus became friends with a prostitute, and tax collector...etc ... etc...
BUT:
Did he ever condone those particular lifestyles?
(No.)
That's where you can get the phrase: "love the person, and hate the sin." I have several friends...some straight, some not...who live ungodly lifestyles. I think the world over them, but that doesn't mean I condone some of their behaviors or attitudes....Loving a person doesn't mean you LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT that person. It means you "accept them unconditionally as a friend"
As for homosexuality being a "big deal"...It's no different than being a thief, or an adulterer, or a murderer, or a liar, or a tax fraud...a drunkard...a drug addict...etc...etc...
The whole thing with homosexuality is: People are hyper-sensative about it with all the equal rights garbage surrounding it.... And frankly, if homosexuals insist on having their "partnerships" they shouldn't be allowed to call it marriage. "marriage" should be a term protected for male/female relationships ONLY.... And churches definately shouldn't be expected to do homosexual marriage ceremonies...
Okay - that's my rant. Sorry for being so long. Hope it answered your question.

God sees all sins the same none are any worse or more wrong then others. Lying is just as bad as being homosexual. But never the less they are still both sins and we need forgiveness from God.
And your right everyone is a sinner but like I said everyone still needs forgiveness. If you gay you need forgiveness, if your not gay you still need forgiveness. (no one has lived a perfect life. well besides Jesus.)
and you said in your question that you have to tell a priest your sins. Not true you can tell God directly. You don't need a middle man.
To me it's just like any other sin. I don't support lying or gossiping or lust so I'm not going to support being gay or any other sin.

You, like many different Christians, thankfully cherry-p.c.. from the Bible the factors you like and discard the factors you do no longer. There are different Christians who take the comprehensive e book actually and those are people who've problem with the subject of homosexuality. it incredibly is obvious from analyze that homosexuality isn't a decision and this would be a extensive situation via fact it would look that your God condemns human beings to hell by using no selection of their very own and there is no longer something that they might do to dodge such condemnation. This shows a different loss of affection out of your God to component of the community. As I reported, no longer all Christians think of like this, in basic terms those that have self belief the Bible in it incredibly is entirety.

<>< The goal is to not do the offending sin anymore, whatever the sin may be. Having sexual relations outside of marriage is a sin. Killing people is a sin. Lying is a sin.Etc., etc. So if someone who at one point thought of him/herself as a homosexual and then NO LONGER has the deviant sex, they are no longer committing the offensive/sinful act. You are to ask forgiveness and REPENT (no longer do offensive act). You cannot just keep doing the same sin andpray for forgiveness knowing that you WILL commit the sin again. It has to be an honest attempt to not do it.
Tuberoot: In that case, since I believe in Yeshua (Jesus), it is ok for me to murder over and over as long as I believe? We have no responsiblity?? Whatever we want to do is ok as long as we believe?? There is a bit more to it than that.
Oh, and by the way...I do have homosexual friends too. I try not to judge anyone I just know what the Word says about sin.

The Rainbow of sin...
We are born with 'original sin', and most all of us have sinned, the question is to what degree, and do we stop sinning.
To focus on merely one sin, is playing with the deception from the garden of eden. One truth is not the whole truth, one fruit is not all the fruit from the tree of knowledge...
Remember there are ten commandments that most all christians find it hard to follow.....
By the way...
Genesis in the bible contains two stories.
1. That God created the universe. (hard to prove)
2. Second story is the story of Adam and Eve where mankind was deceived the devil by taking of the tree of knowledge (it was hard to prove until anti-truths were discovered)
What are anti-truths ?
Truths that lie ! I know you have not heard of them; but that is the proof.
You see truths can lie, they are not the whole truth, we are not God to know The whole Truth. Most truths are merely half-truths, of the third kind; that is a truth that lies because it is part of the truth.
Here is the site:
http://www.thejesuschristcode.com
So by proving that 'the deception' the 'original sin' did exist, because it still exists in human philosophy, prove the 2nd half of genesis true, therefore this may be strong evidence to prove that the first part of genesis is true.
How exactly, and in what time frame, is irrelevant, the bottom line is that God created the world.
ps....proof is in proving that the devil exists, and that the decpetion in the garden did exist...you know 'the dark force' that Spacewars talks about....
It you think this is valid, please pass it on...mankind is being deceived !

First off, the practice of confession is something Catholics do. There really is no reason, nor is it what Jesus taught. God is all-knowing, so why would we need to confess sins to a priest? We don't! Leave that to God; we can just tell God; we don't need to go through a priest.
Jesus befriended people because that's what we should be-friends (I hope that makes sense; we should 'be friends' to others). That doesn't mean I have to like what they do. Let me ask you. If your mother killed some random person, would you stop loving her? I wouldn't. Jesus (who is God) wouldn't. But I would obviously hate what she did. I don't think homosexuality is an action worth accepting, though I would never reject someone because of their choices.
I guess being gay doesn’t hurt anyone. Now, if for some reason being a friend to someone meant me getting hurt by their actions, that would be when I don't be their friend. For example, someone who I thought was being a friend only was in it so he could steal stuff from me. I don't hate him. I hate what he did to me. But, I forgive him.
This is going to sound preachy, but it is true-Jesus will forgive homosexuals if they repent of their sin. That's because Jesus forgives anyone who asks. The man standing next to Jesus asked for forgiveness and received it. That's proof that anyone can, too.
I'm glad you mentioned what you did about Jesus, because that sounds like a great person-someone who hung out with prostitutes and outcasts. I know many people who are all for gay marriage, but turn away from those who have conditions, like autism, or maybe even people who are just shy. I wouldn't want to extend an agenda promoting non-acceptance. I don't think churches should turn away from homosexuals, either. As Christians, it would be hypocritical to not 'accept' anyone. After all, we're all sinners. That would be like a homosexual not 'accepting' me because I used God's name in vain once. It would be bad.
So, I don't hate anyone or ignore anyone because of sexual orientation. Really, there is no person whom I don't like. I have no reason to spread hatred toward people. However, knowing the destruction of the choice of homosexuality, I have every reason to hate that action. Like murdering, stealing and lying, I hate the actions. I would never hate the person.
StormDevil: You don't allow e-mail, but if you happen to read this, I would like to point out a few of the Ten Commandments. One commands us not to lie. Have you ever in your life told a lie? I can't think of anyone who hasn't. What about the commandment not to use God's name in vain? Have you ever done that? Many have...and what about this one: whomever has looked at a person with lust (sexual desire...you know that means) has committed adultery in his heart. I can't think of any guy not guilty of that one.
So by just three of the Ten Commandments, you are likely guilty. And I can't think of anyone who isn't. Many people would have you think that people are naturally/inherently good. Sorry, people are inherently evil, and it becomes quite clear when you use the Ten Commandments as an example.

We know, that we are all born into sin,but Jesus took care of that on the cross. If we remain in sin,we say that He died in vain. Jesus gives us power to stop sinning, all we have to do ,is accept His forgiveness and not sin no more.
You cannot stay in a homosexual lifestyle or remain a liar or stay in any kind of sin. It is all sin to God. One sin is no worse than another sin.

Being Straight is not a prerequisite of being saved. That's a lie that many have told you, but not me, and not the Bible.
What people have to learn is that they have to believe what God has said, it's that simple! What did He say?
John 3
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
So what's the big deal. Believe in Him and be saved! No Christian ought to tell you any different than what Jesus said.
And that's in context too!

Religion is man-made and usually has little or nothing to do with God. It's a tool of manipulation used by those in power to keep control over the masses. It's also a good way to spread hate, especially when there's something different that threatens their neat little world.
