I had a friend who had Class III Anterior open bite. So basically his smile looked like a Lhasa Apso. He had orthognathic surgery done, which is to say, he had braces on to get his teeth into some kind of alignment. When the teeth were aligned then he had surgery on his jaws. He had a LeFort osteotomy on the top jaw, which is to say his top jaw was moved forward and rotated down a little. And he had a Mandibular setback on the bottom jaw, which means his bottom jaw was moved back. In the end, he had a little bit of swelling and a little bruising, but very little pain. And he ended up with a perfect bite, and straight teeth that could not bite a sandwich and tear through a piece of lettuce.

open bite surgery is a great procedure. it will make your facial appearance better. Usually, patients with open bites have very gummy smiles. This will be corrected. You need consultation with an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon
