the big bang theory is not a theory explaining the initial creation of the universe, it is a theory explaining the evolution of the young universe.

true ? false ?

if that is false; what started it all? the bigger bang ?

God caused it. Since God caused it, it is called the "BIG BANG". If some random circumstance caused it, it would be called the "little burp"

Look this is very simple, we can see other galaxies around us and we can tell how far they are away by bouncing light off of them. We can also tell that over time the galaxies are getting farther away from us. This leads us to the conclusion that at one point everything was very close together. Now what actually caused them to seperate nobody really knows thats why it's a theory. It could just have been the collision of two massive objects who knows. Just because we don't know however doesn't mean we go making up stories about a magical being that did it. If you're going to try and say that something had to create the universe you have to admit that something had to create whatever it was that created the universe. The fact of the matter is no matter what something just existed. It didn't need to be created by anything or anyone, it just was that way. There is absolutely no reason to think that the universe could not have just existed forever. It's actually way more plausable then to assume some magical being snapped it's fingers and made it. After all I know the universe exists we can at least see that with our own eyes.

Why is this in R&S?

You're right, Big Bang theory does not describe the "creation" of the universe, only its change from a previous state to the state it was in billions of years ago that causes all matter to drift from a central point ~ where the "bang" occured.

And what started it? Nobody knows. Of course a lot of people claim that their god created the Universe so this doesn't really bother them,

I'm going with True. There was a singularity at one point in time and nothing in the Big Bang theory discusses what was there prior to the singularity. The "Bang" part of "Big" wasn't a "Bang" so much as just expansion. The Big Bang theory tests pretty well against observation. Even the cosmic background radiation survey that was recently completed worked with the theory.

Only universal laws can be catagerized as true or false. Things like gravity, electrical charges +/-.... etc.

as long as something is a theory, it is encouraged in the scientific community to do your darndest to test the theory to it's breaking point.

As of today, from what I know, the theory of the big bang has not been disproven in a scientifically reproducable manner.
A book written a few thousand years ago by human beings does not count as scientific proof of evidence against the theory.

nothing in science is dogma... that's what makes it science.

true enough, i suppose. there's no evidence that "the initial creation of the universe" is something that happened that needs to be explained - so naturally the big bang theory doesn't explain it. i don't know what started it all (if there was a start), but i bet you think that you do, don't you?

Inflation is what happened in the young universe, the Big Bang is properly the instant when the singularity was no longer a singularity.

Read some physics books rather than ask a question in R&S!

the first thing that you have wrong is you call it a "theory" a theory must be able to be tested, and then to see if the evens that caused it will happen the same way every time to become a law. However, since it supposedly happened in the ancient past it cannot be proven or tested, it must be accepted on the basis of faith or which do you believe in most - the scientists who have built their house of cards,or in an omnipotent creator. Scientists have viewed the heavens since the discovery of the telescope, they have viewed it in erroneous concepts such as billions of years! evolutionary hypothesis! Ask any scientist to prove that it happened, ask them to give you the evidence, ask them to show you the evidence. See what kind of answers you get. Know this they will give you a lot of ideas, conjectures, and so called theories that none of them can be proven, or tested.

I recently saw a science article in which scientists were discussing studying the universe before the Big Bang. It doesn't claim to know where everything came from originally.

Genesis in the bible contains two stories.

1. That God created the universe. (hard to prove)

2. Second story is the story of Adam and Eve where mankind was deceived the devil by taking of the tree of knowledge (it was hard to prove until anti-truths were discovered)

What are anti-truths ?

Truths that lie ! I know you have not heard of them; but that is the proof.

You see truths can lie, they are not the whole truth, we are not God to know The whole Truth. Most truths are merely half-truths, of the third kind; that is a truth that lies because it is part of the truth.

Here is the site:

So by proving that 'the deception' the 'original sin' did exist, because it still exists in human philosophy, prove the 2nd half of genesis true, therefore this may be strong evidence to prove that the first part of genesis is true.

How exactly, and in what time frame, is irrelevant, the bottom line is that God created the world.

ps....proof is in proving that the devil exists, and that the decpetion in the garden did exist...you know 'the dark force' that Spacewars talks about....

It you think this is valid, please pass it on...mankind is being deceived !

Old ancient knowledge believes that when God wakes up called Manvantara or day the universe explodes and when God sleeps called Pralaya or night everything is drawn back. There is no such thing as true or false for who was there at the beginning of creation?
