I'm trying to picture Gordon in a '74 Chevy Laguna......or Newman in a Superbird......Gilligan in a TorinoTalladega......Junior in a Hudson Hornet........
Nope. Can't do it.
BTW, Scoob... There are societies such as HSR (Historic Sports Car) and SVRA (Sportscar Vintage Racing Association) that take old sportscars, retired Indy Cars & Formula cars & yes, even old school Cup Cars out on the track & FLOG them as if they were new. Priceless or not.
Both organizations have weekend events at The Glen every year. (And many other tracks as well.)
If you have the means to get to one of these events, I highly recommend it.
I worked six seasons @The Glen, & can honestly say that I enjoyed the Vintage weekends as much (if not more) than Cup weekend.
Another great question from the mind of Scooby. Here, have another.......Oh, screwitt. Take the whole box.

Thats an awesome idea. I'd watch a mid week race of nostalgia! The drivers would like it too if they got to play by the old rules... the pit crews would go wild putting their own "fixins" to the cars. Imagine, todays knowledge of engine enhancement ALLOWED on yesterdays car engines... carboraters.. etc! Yeah, I'm for it. Lets have em' race it at daytona track! Plenty of room for those older more flexible rules... hmm, sigh.. if only.

That would be soooooo cool.
Back to the early 80's with the same rules as far as chassis and body. Maybe even racing back to the yellow.
Once again a top shelf Idea.

That's one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time. That would be so kool. I believe the new drivers would have a tough time adapting. End result: they might really appreciate all the equipment and technology they have now!

The guys of today couldn't last 50 laps in the car of yesterday. No cool suits, no power steering, seat not fitted for their butts to seat in. Overall safety of then would make a lot of then run for cover because they would be afraid to drive then. It would be great to see then try. Great question.

That would be awesome to see Pettys old car racing or maybe Dale Srs. yellow and blue wrangler car racing. I would also like to see one of Bill Elliott's thunderbirds racing.

it could be cool too see Gordon and Kenseth combat-yet Kenseth could actual kick his butt because of the fact i in my view think of Gordon is gay...And in basic terms because of the fact he has a g/f or spouse would not propose he's not gay-it skill he's to important of a girly-guy to confess it! and that i could desire to work out each and every physique take a swing at Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman!! I hate them-incredibly Newman [he's incredibly plenty anti-hunter!]
