You'll be at university for at least four years. You should choose where YOU want to go, and not base that decision on anyone else (not even your "special" friend).
What school offers the best opportunities? Which has the best program for your desired major? Which has the extracurricular activities and social environment you desire? What are you looking to get out of college, and where can you best get those qualities?
I chose a mid-sized state university that was far from my hometown, despite being admitted to several "prestigious" private schools. It wasn't the choice my friends or family wanted, but it was where I fit and where I could get everything I needed. This is a choice you need to make for you and no one else.

Put God first and what He wants for your future and then when you are 18, try to make an adult move to where you want to go to college. If it takes losing the support of those that are not christian, God will help you with your dreams. It may be hard without the support of your non-christian family if you decide to do what they think is not best for you. Only you can decide what is best for your future when you have graduated and on your own. Good luck!

You still have a year. I recommend going to a Christian college, as the secular ones are just that, full of anti-Christian thinking.
It is very easy to lose your Christian perspective when being bombarded almost 24/7 in a secular school. Some hold out, but they are solid in Christ. But I have seen many fall too.

Then stay close to home if that is what makes you feel better. You could always transfer to another college later if you feel like it. Moving away from friends and family is a really big step. It's not for everyone.

Going to college is a decision that you need to make with your parent's help.
Regardless of what the "others" want, it's up to you whether or not you want to stay close to YOUR home, and/or whether or not you want to go to a christian or secular college.

I don't think that they will try to change your views. Most people that are not Christians will pick at Christians only because they are envious.
Perhaps you could get them to agree that they will NOT try to get you to change your mind. Jr High? You still have time to think about it and who know.....something may come up to solve all problems. Pops

Just pray about it over and over again. Just like the parable our Lord gave about the persistent widow. God will not refuse you. Nevertheless, not YOUR will be done, but HIS will be done.
