As I browsed the questions and answers today, I am amazed by the number of WRONG answers given by Christians. For example, someone asked the question "Why does God kill people." There were numerous answers that something like, "Read your Bible, God doesn't kill people!" The people with these answers obviously had not actually read the Bible. Consider the following verses:

1 Samuel 6:19
But God struck down some of the men of Beth Shemesh, putting seventy of them to death because they had looked into the ark of the LORD.

2 Samuel 6:7
The LORD's anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down and he died there beside the ark of God.

Acts 12:23
Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.

Answering the world's questions is not as simple as "Jesus loves you!" So, how many actually check before answering?

I do my best to check it out first AND to actually answer the questions posed. Many times answerers sort of "blurt out" the first thing that comes to their attention, which may not relate to the question asked at all. I try to evaluate the question so I an address the issue involved.

I love the websites: BibleMaster.com (for actual Bible verses, different translations available, topical Bible, and Commentaries) and gotquestions.org (for Christian-based answers to many questions posed here all the time!... gives me the "words" that I sometimes have a loss of)

What I have particular problems with is when someone asks a Bible question, others just answer with their spiteful comments, just as "Julia" did to your question, calling Christians "retardians." There is no need for such maliciousness, on either/all "sides" of an issue.

Maybe I'm a bit kinder to those who answer with simple verses or sayings, like "Jesus loves you," at least their hearts are in the right place and they are not being as nasty as those, like Julia, are.

There is a problem in the reading of the second chapter. You are assuming from verse 5 that rain has a relation the purpose to make the man. Something like there is not rain there is no need to make the man. Water Cycle has not being established. Some people think that The water cycle started with the flood. Some scientist think that the atmosphere was different before the flood and that has a relation with the long life people used to enjoy. Check chapter 1 in detail. Chapter one in verse 6 there is water divided on two parts under and above the expanse. Chapter one in verse 26 God is going to make them man. Chapter one in verse 31 declares the creation to be completed on the six day.

Your question is a reality check. When I sit down to answer questions on my laptop, I have Bible software loaded on my computer with 6 Bible versions, 2 commentaries, a bible word search capabliity that I can search 6 Bible versions as fast as a teenager can Google; Strong's Concordance, and several books by Hank Hanegraaff and James MacArthur. Enough of God's word to make Apostle Paul drool, right?
Wrong. I'm human; and I know that a lot of these questions are written by scoffers and those types of people who would consider it amusement to attend the coliseum and watch the christians get eaten.
Sometimes I don't really answer; I react. 1Pe 3:15 but sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord: being ready always to give answer to every man that asketh you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with meekness and fear:
I have no problem answering; its that "meekness and respect" part that gets me. I have feet of clay, and I am quite capable of sarcasm; in fact, my children would tell you I'm quite the wisecracker.
Pray that I use these resources as a gentle guide and not as a club; pray that I pray before answering; pray that I answer as led by the Spirit and not by my own emotions. Thanks.

Yes. We are admonished to "handle the word of truth aright" in 2Timothy 2:15.
Mishandling it is where people get ideas about the trinity and hellfire, and an immortal soul that lives inside us! They hear all these things from grandpa or momma or the preacher at the local church (whom we all KNOW is trustworthy) and never bother to check the bible to see if what these people say gels with it!

I did not check if the verse already inside my head, if not I look it up in the bible.

It is so easy now with e-Bible. Searching verses made easy.
I don't know why other just blabbering anything without cross checking it with the Bible. Just a click away

The whole topic seems a little subjective since there are different sections to Christianity. So when you say there are amazingly "WRONG" answers its just according to what section you belong to and what you believe right? So what makes you the ultimate decider of whats right and wrong? Now I'm not a Christian and I don't even believe in god but I'm pretty sure it says in there that its not your job to judge ppl.

I haven't read these questions...yet, but I think there is something to consider, and that is that there may be topics about this wordly life that they are asking more than ' hey is your God a killer beacause I read.." It may death, coping and God blaming in which God did not kill these people. We are allowed free will in which the devil has room to work.

Most times I do sit here with my Bible beside me.
I use my concordance at times to help me.
I also go to Biblegateway.com - that is an excellent resource.
I will admit sometimes I answer in my own strength and opinion...thanks for the encouraging reminder to speak the Truth from the Word..
