Does social drinking make you age faster than if you didn't drink alcohol at all? Also, does red wine help you look younger?

Depends on how you define "social drinking". You can binge drink in a social situation, just as much as if you are drinking alone. Numerous scientific studies have shown that 1 or 2 glasses of wine a day does have healthful benefits, especially for the heart. And red wine has been found to contain antioxidants. I don't think the studies have found that you will look younger. However, there is a disclaimer: don't start drinking alcohol for the health benefits. Alcohol can grab you and take over your life. There are not too many things more profoundly addictive than alcohol. And yes, if you are an alcohol abuser, your physical well being and looks will suffer. To finance my way through a Wisconsin college, I was a bartender at a neighborhood bar and I witnessed what a lifetime of alcohol abuse will do to men and women. It's not a pretty sight.

Excessive drinking can age you. Next time you are in a bar look around. If it is a place where people over 30 frequent you will see some really old looking 40 year olds.

As for red wine making you look younger, it depends on how many glasses you drink before you look in the mirror. I am pretty hot after about 3 glasses. (joke) Nah it does nothing for your appearance other than making you feel good. There have been studies done that 1 glass of red wine per day is good for you heart but that is about it.

Social drinking would probably not do to much damage.
But I use to work with a guy who drank a case of beer ever
day. His liver gave out and he died at the ripe old age of 43.
But I knew an old man who had a glass of wine every evening
both he and his wife were both in their 80's. So If you can
handle just social drinking you will be ok but anything you do to excess isn't good for your body. Even the Bible says take a little wine for the stomach's sake. First Timothy chapter 5
verse 23.

Pretty much 2 drinks a day is beneficial specially if it is red wine. However, man than 2 a day seems to work against you. Most Doctors agree with this.

( I asked the Doc if I could save up my 2 a day and drink 14 of them on Saturday night but he didn't think that was funny)

Alcohol use can age you or at least your liver but probably your looks also. You may gain weight from it or get red veins along your nose etc.

However, it ain't stopped me from having a good time.

Overindulgence is what makes damage to cells. Just a few casual social drinks probably keeps you younger because you are around friends and having a good time. A positive mind makes for a young body.

Red wine contains anti-oxident which will help you to keep your youth for longer. However, it won't help you look younger.

However, if you drink more than 1 glass per day. Alcohol will have greater effects on you. Alcohol will age you as well as sleeping late and smoking.

No, I don't think so as long as you don't drink in excess. Light and moderate drinking is associated with better heart health and sharper mind. Life time non-drinkers has slighter higher heart problems. Excessive drinks risks many healthy problem and society problems.

Red wine is beneficial to your health, but there are not many studies that red wine will make you look younger, but it is good for you as long you don't overindulge.

No and No.
NOTHING can make you age faster. If you abuse alcohol, you can do damage to your body which will shorten your life, but won't make you age quicker. Too much red wine and you'll look like an alcoholic. Certain people may react well to red wine when drank in moderation, but in general, NO, how could it make someone look younger?

I drink pretty much every day. On the days I drink, I age 24 hours that day. On the days I don't drink, I age a day in 24 hours.
