basically if you raise your hand in class, to ask a question,
are you using your basic right of freedom of speech?
if the teacher for one reason or another, makes a mis-statement;
and you bring it to their attention, and help correcting that
mis-statement, is that not also freedom of speech?
when a teacher is discribing a subject, that you need
for them to elaborate more plainly, again is your request
for greater clarity not free speech?
Founding Fathers of the Constitution, many were, very
well grounded in both their religion and historic education.
Many examples in history of ordinary people standing up to
the rich and powerful, punished just for speaking up the truth.
They; the Founding Fathers were determined that this
impediment will not be so in America.
But among us this day, abounds a segment of the population, neither
articulate, nor intelligent, that seeks to abuse this right for
their self agrandizement, and not for original intended purpose.
There is an old name for that, bullying. A type of bullying
that tries to justifies itself by wrapping itself in the free speech
provision.
Real use of Free Speech vs Bullying is as different as
sunrise and sunset. But sometimes the clouds get into
the way, making it difficult to determine the actual state
of things. Thus, in all class rooms, the teacher agenda
should be one which allows a two way dialog between
teacher and student, that the student can develop the
same wonderful critical thinking skills aquired by the
Founding Father, in the way they did by their teachers.
Their teachers, all being men of great reknowned.

in a nutshell, sort of.
I'm not sure about your word but technically we do have the freedom of speech, however many people define it in different ways. For example a school might ban a certain religious T-shirt because someone they like doesn't like the shirt. There are also corperations that threaten to sue schools who don't do what they want, like the ACLU. Even though the ACLU might lose the case, the threat of having to hire a lawyer to represent the school in court is enough to scare some schools into complying; simply because they don't want to put money into defending people they could simply boss around.

you'd think so to be honest.
how are we to grow up and be independant and speak our own minds when our thoughts and opinions are being supressed so early on?
and freedom of speech isn't all about curse words. it's about being free to say how you feel and voice your opinions without the fear that it could get you into trouble, ok fair enough some things are better left unsaid and kept in your head, but that's all down to knowing what is appropriate to say and what isn't.
there you go, how are we supposed to know what is appropriate? this is what has been drummed into our heads, since we were little.
there is no such thing as freedom of speech, garunteed someone will ***** about this, i have spoke freely but somebody will feel the need to tell me i am wrong, that's there desicion though however how ca it be freedom of speech if somebody is telling you your opinions are wrong. you only believe right and wrong from what you have been taught.
this then proves that what we call freedom of speech is nothing but pro-longing the opions from those who taught us.

Freedom of speech doesn't apply in school. You can't use any curse words. Cursing is a sin so I don't think any one should be doing it any way.
