i also have a smaller one next to my collar bone. the pain is unbelievable. my face is starting to hurt. ive taken antibiotics but it doesn't seem to do any good.

Did it grow slowly or did it just appear overnight? Have you had a fever? if so probably a swollen lymph node. Could be a cyst, goiter, infected salivary gland, or any number of other things. Answers probably isn't the place for you to get diagnosed and antibiotics shouldn't be taken without a perscription for the specific illness. If they're not taken properly they'll just make the infection worse and more difficult to treat down the road. If you must ask medical advice on this site it would be wise to include more information.

This could be swollen lymph nodes, a tumor, or even a thyroid problem. Pain is the signal that something's wrong; see the doctor again. If that doesn't work, get a second opinion.

Sounds like a swollen lymph node. Go to the doctor immediatly, there is a possibility that this may have cancer in it. Dont take any chances.

i know that it must be painful. did a doc prescribe antibiotics?? if not, see a doctor as soon as you can, that sounds really serious
