I have met many that calls themselves christians that would rather live with their mate then make their relationship legal. I hear who need paper. Forget that the scripture says we are to obey the law of man so as not to shame the children of God

This isn't a question just for CHRISTians. It is a human question. The answer is: The hardness of their hearts. If people weren't afraid of committment why not consecrate themselves to GOD . ..

Moses allowed you to divorce because of the hardness of your hearts - JESUS said in the Bible.

But then JESUS told us that we could not divorce except in the case of sexual sin, and anyone who sent their spouse away caused them to committ adultery.

It is good to hear that some here have been committed and happily married.

-LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.

Christians love the commitment of marriage. The problem is that though we are Christian, we still have normal human failings and we do get divorced. I would like to think that Christians try a little harder at keeping the marriage before throwing in the towel though.

I am a Christian and i dont hate marriage! We save sex for marriage and we let God show us who is the right one for us. We understand life just fine as it is like any of you people wheather if you are Christian or not! We just let God work in our lives to help us through the tough times life gives us.. But thats not all He does! We once were sinners and we still sin, we just ask God for forgiveness every wrong step we take you know, so we try to be what we think God wants us to be and we try to follow His commandments.. so that we can be Holy like Jesus Christ was. So You see! We are not perfect!

That's a bunch of silliness. Christians love marriage. It's a holy estate, blessed by God. After all, men and women were made for each other, and premarital or extramarital relations are un-nice; therefore. . .marriage!

If marriage worked so well the divorce rate wouldnt be raising at alarming rates. They are smart to wait and live with someone first. As most of us are finding it is the living with someone that makes you realize you dont want to be tied to them for life.

I'll be married 7 years this December. Anyone can label themselves a Christian, but God's not fooled. " Many shall stand before me in that day and say " Lord, Lord, etc." and I will say to them, " I never knew you. Depart from me into everlasting fire" ( Matthew 7:21-23). So please learn to distinguish true Christians from fascades before you make false statements.

And what made you think that, I know some people just live together, and as far as I am concerned Christians usually get married.

Huh? As a good Roman Catholic Christian I will get married and I'm not afraid of commitment. Good Christians aren't.

Actually, I kinda like it. I've been happily married 17 years now! I think it's meant to be shared between a man and a women. Is that where you're going?
