I keep hearing about how we stole the southwest and CA from poor ole Mexico, and that by rights they deserve to be in this country as a result. Therefore I have two questions to resolve, the first is when then is Chicago flooded by illegals from Mexico since THAT territory NEVER belonged to them? The second is, when we give back those disputed states/areas are the Mexicans going to give back the whole of Mexico to Spain, whom THEY stole it from?

Well, i don't know, probably not. First off America did steal the land from them, it was an illegal war that America only supported because of manifest destiny notion, but the way the war was begun and carried out was dishonorable and low. But you don't see all the Mexicans and illegals here saying give back the area you stole, they say let us live here its better, yet they are to stupid and patriotic to go through the process like our other citizens did that moved here. But Chicago would never be given just because alot of Mexicans are there, only the land that was part of Mexico would be given. And Mexico wouldn't give back the land to Spain because colonialism ended shortly after WW2. although the only land that wouldn't be given back to Mexico that was taken, would be Texas. Simply because Texas became independent and then was accepted into the USA before out brake of war with Mexico and USA, through diplomacy.Part of the war with Mexico was started using Texas since the border was disputed.

To answer the question straight, no, the U.S. doesn't need to give back land to Mexico. Texas won its independence from Mexico as a republic, then decided to be annexed into the U.S. The rest of the Southwest, excluding the area within 50 miles of the current border, was purchased from France in 1809 by Pres. Jefferson. The remainder was purchased from Mexico by the railroads.

You may keep hearing it but they are wrong! No matter how many times they say it doesn't make it true!

That's the line that Mexico gives to their citizens so that they think it's OK to come here.

America BOUGHT the land for $15 million. The southwestern US is NOT part of Mexico.

Why should we? We won the war against them to claim the land. They have plenty of land, the problem is that it is in the hands of only a few wealthy people. Even if they could buy land in their own country, they seem to want things all ready for them without having to build it themselves.

First off, no, it was right by conquest, they're just sad they lost.
And second, Spain took over Mexico, then France was in there somewhere, and then they got independence... so that last part is invalid.

Perhaps they can return Mexico to the Aztecs?

Though, of course, the Aztecs stole it from the Toltecs...

We didn't steal chit from them. But if we remove all buildings, infrastructure, utilities, damns, roads and every other improvement, do you honestly think they would want it? They would only have more of what they came from. Those that think we own Mexico anything can kiss my hind end.
