hate and violence would you try to ignore that part of your faith??
I mean if your belief about gay people may lead other people to behave in a violent way (kill, imprison...) with gay people, would you ignore that part of what is in the bible, in the name of universal love???
what would be more important for god : that you "fight" for everyone to "love"/respect everyone? or that you condemn gays?

People's actions based on my beliefs isn't my fault. I wouldn't compromise my beliefs because some people might do the wrong thing.

First, Jesus Christ IS universal love. Second, no I could never ignore part of the Bible. Third, I see no need to "fight" anyone, or condemn gays. The Bible says that homosexuality is wrong, as it does many other things. God is the only one who can condemn. Violence, when associated with hate, is of Satan and not of God

I'm not a Christian, actually atheist but I was brought up in an extremely fundamentalist christian church.
Isn't the answer to anything, "What would Jesus do?" Jesus did not "condemn" any sinners, he advocated peaceful teaching and not mob violence. He also said to look at the rafter in your own eye and not the straw in your brother's.
I believe that one of the biggest problems with Christianity these days is that everyone wants to make rules for others and not just be satisfied with living their lives as they see fit. Why speak out against homosexuality? The only person you need to worry about is yourself. Only God can "condemn".

I'm a Bisexual Christian. So, if I haven't sinned, I should throw the first stone? That would be hypocritical.
It seems that I have much to explain to you, by the way you worded your statements.
Our faith = trust. And that is to be placed in God through Jesus Christ. Hence: Christian.
All the other things, love, humanitarian causes, doing good, etc. are things that we might do, but it depends upon where we are in our walk with Christ ( as in maturity ) , as to how we perform those other things. He works with us on what we are lacking IF we trust Him.
So I have come along knowing that God cares less about homosexual marriage than He cares about whether we trust Him or not. I personally see that the whole homosexual issue is a deterrent to the preaching of the Gospel that we are supposed to do. Something that I believe Satan is using the church for in order to set a repulsive response from those who are not saved.
So if Gays are condemned, so am I. But if Christ is truth, then I am saved, Gay or straight.

Your question doesn't make a lot of sense. Sorry.
Each person is responsible for their own actions. If my belief in anything lead other people to behave in any way, it would be a cop out for them. They must own their own actions.
Sin is sin and it is hard for some otherwise "good" people to accept that they are sinners, but it is the truth. The focus should be on acceptance of Christ as Lord and Savior, seeking forgiveness for the sins they've committed, and then promise to go forth sin no more... to be reborn as a Christian.
But the hardest part is recognizing that sin does exist, and then looking in the mirror and realizing that you are a sinner. That is too hard for most people.

Hello againstwindandtide.. :)
I am not sure what you are asking, but I for one do not stop worshiping my Lord in word and in truth..sometimes my actions speak much louder than words..sometimes they do not..I let the Holy Spirit guide me.. :)
My oldest daughter took me out to dinner a couple of years ago and introduced me to her friend, who was a young man..we shook hands and right away told me he was gay..I said Praise the Lord..I am a Christian it is a honor to meet you.. :) I gave him a big hug.. :)
We talked for approx. 1 hour, he did not feel like I was a threat to him and vise versa..
To make a small story short, he told me that he thought Christians hated gay people..
I said just because someone does not agree with how someone lives, does not mean we cannot care about and Love one another.. :)
There is an ending to this story..but that is for another time.. :)
In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

What I don't believe is how a person like Earl D can compare a harmless action of two consenting adults with actions that harm and leave victims.
This line of thought is utterly irrational.
