Is it true that an 03-04 mustang cobra with a twin screw supercharger can beat just about every car on the road. I think it has something like 600hp.

With a name like John Paul I wouldnt think you would be so misleading. If you just dont have all the info I apologize and will correct your statement. The lawsuit you are talking about was involving 5300 1999 cobras. There was never, has never been any lawsuit involving the 03/04 cobras. In fact it is well known and even the chevy guys that go to the track will tell you that the 390hp rating the 03/04 cobras recieve from the factory is underrated. The 03/04 cobras are much closer to 430hp. Take a look at wilkipedia for those of you that dont go to the track. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Mustang_SVT_Cobra
As far as the 1999 lawsuit goes, ford did not "overexagerate" the power of there cobras as John Paul mislead you to believe. There was a problem with the exhaust that when ford put out the recall and fixed the problem the 1999 cobra made the exact hp that ford said they would make.
Now to the 03/04 twin screw cobras. Everything I am about to state is absolute fact with no opinion. Yes, the twin screw cobras will beat any stock vehical on the road. WIth almost no modifications other then swaping the eaton supercharger out for a kenne bell twin screw the 03/04 cobras produce 656rwhp which equates to around 800hp. http://www.kennebell.net/superchargers/ford/cobra03/cobra03.htm So for 30k you can have a 800hp car. The cobras are the only car manufactured under 70k that comes with a built engine with forged pistons, forged crankshaft, manley H beam rods, cast iron block capable of 800-1000hp stock. If you want to create a 800hp gto or camero for exapmle, you basically have to replace the whole engine. The twin screw cobra is about 1 full second faster in the 1/4 mile then the stock 07 z06 corvette for about 45k less money(same driver both vehicals) The twin screw cobra is a low 10 second car where the 07 z06 is a low 11 second car. http://www.dragtimes.com/compare2.php?resultpage=6&make1=15&model1=270&op1=%3D&year1=0&make2=-1&op2=%3D&year2=0&make3=-1&op3=%3D&year3=0&make4=-1&op4=%3D&year4=0&submitButtonName=Compare%21
Someone mentioned taking a dodge hennasey viper and adding a supecharger to it. That car is a $100,000 car. If you were to take your 30k twin screw cobra and add another 15k in suspension and engine mods, the twin screw cobra would be faster then the henasey viper with a supecharger and would still cost 55k less. The only car out there that really compares to the 03/04 cobras are the modified twin turbo supras. In my opinion the thing that makes the cobras better then the supras is that they are newer (the newest supra is a 1998 i believe), they are less expensive if they have the same millage, and they are faster stock (12.9 cobra vrs 13.6 supra) Even Smith from Fast Fords and muscle mustangs ran a 12.43 1/4 mile with a stock 2003 cobra

To sum it up, the answer to your question, once again, is yes. I think the fact that the cars peole have to come up with to be even in the same league as the twin screw cobra are $100,000 cars makes the 27k cobra look pretty darn good.

P.S. Im pretty sure i put i website with every fact i mentioned but in case i missed something and you think anything I stated was not absolute fact, let me know and i will reference it for you.

Remember there is always a guy/girl out there who is going to shut you down. Mustang Cobra is not as light as a Z0-6 Corvette or as fast a a Dodge Viper with a Hennessy modified with Supercharger. Remember Ford was sued over exagerated horse power on cobras? And watch out for that guy with a nasty 2005 or 2006 GTO some club members cars have almost 800 hp I have seen

the answer to your question is yes.
a cobra with a Kenne Bell will easily woop
99.9% of the cars on the road.
but most of those are civics and camrys and cars that it could have wooped without that stuff anyway.
it would also get spanked by nearly every motorcycle on the road.

well all the horsepower in the world is worthless if the person driving can't handle it or if the car itself isn't setup right for it
