i know this guy who i have known since i was like 6 & he & i like each other. he even told me he loved me, the whole thing felt so surreal. but then i found out he didn't mean it, & then we faught. later i found out he flirted with another girl while he was fighting with me! i cried so much over him & i think i fell in love with him. but obviously i mean nothing to him, unless i'm dating someone else. cuz when i did that he got jealous/pissed off. should he feel that way? & should i have cried over him?

He is behaving fairly typical of a young male adolescent. He is taking advantage of the length of your friendship by ignoring you except for when you are interested in someone else.
Do not accept being treated badly by him or anyone else otherwise you may become involved in an unhealthy relationship later in your life. Tell him that he does not have the right to treat you badly because of how long you have been friends. At this time I would say that your feelings of 'love' are not romantic that they are more in line with a long term friendship. His saying he loved you may have been from your friendship also.
We cry when we get hurt by someone we like and trust, he hurt you and left you confused so of course you would cry.
Cheer up, give him a good talking to about what a good long friendship you had with him and now he has spoilt it. Then walk away with your head held high.

Err dont you know anything about guys, if a guy fully busts out with I love you and then you do nothing its like.. well that was embarresing i think ill retract it and save our friendship.

Chances are he still likes you, but he thinks you dont like him so he moved on and got a girlfriend. You need to let him know where you stand with him otherwise you will watch him pass by and you'll miss the boat

Hey chick. This guys sounds like he wants his cake and wants to eat it too. He is definitely immature and doesn't know what he wants yet. Yes, he is wrong for having a double standard of wanting to flirt or be with other girls, but not wanting you to be with other guys. You do not need a guy like this, please trust me! Tell him that you don't need him to be immature or double-standard and that he decided he didn't want you, he messed up, and now he has to live with it. This will teach him not to play with your emotions. I know it hurts babe, but ya got to stick up for youself, and the younger you are when you start this, the stronger will become sooner.

I think that it's completely natural to feel sad, go ahead and cry your eyes out, I know that I would if that happened! Don't let this boy get to you, they aren't even worth it. Trust me, I've had enough heart break to know.
