Putting an icing on a warm cake will thin & melt the icing. The cake will absorb some of it too so it won't look even. The cake should taste okay but the texture will be a little mushy near the icing.

no, the icing may melt into the cake a little which is not always a bad thing. Or it can lead to crumbs from the cake sticking to the icing and being spread around, some people think this is unattractive. But neither is harmful to the cake, or its taste.

Well, it depends. Warm cake will melt the icing. The icing will then sink down into the cake. This can make for a not-so-pretty cake. It should taste all right.

The whole purpose of letting it cool first is because the icing will melt and run of the cake. Also, when you try to ice it, then part of the top layer of the cake can come off.

The cake will be fine, just messy. The icing will run off the cake and onto the plate (or counter depending on how big the plate is) I recommend next time to wait until it cools it will LOOK much better, but the taste will pretty much remain the same. Have a bite for me please!

It won't hurt the cake at all but it might melt the icing depending how hot the cake still was.

The heat residual in the cake, can make the icing break down and run. It then looks more like a drizzle.
