The last time there was a split was in the late 50's early 60's.The 2 directions were NASCAR and ARCA.AS for it happening again anytime soon it does not look like it will.
The sport and NASCAR is too strong right now to split.
If it ever does split look for a Bruton Smith to take the lead and run with a new racing series.

I sure hope not ! But Brian France is not doing to good so far .Bruton Smith was trying to start his own series a few years ago and if Brian doesn't wise up he could probably do it now !

Nascar has 3 different series, the Crafstman Truck Series, Busch Series, and the Nextel Cup Series.
Now, if you are talking about all of that spliting in two, I highly doubt they would do that. Nascar isn't broke, so why would they try to "Fix" it?

Not anytime soon... Nascar has the monopoly on all of the $$$ in the sport not to menton they (The France's) own half of the major tracks needed to race on!
