A fudgepacker is a factory position with Hershey's or other chocolatiers. The fudge that comes out of production is poured by machine into trays. The fudge then needs to be packed, but this step is too delicate for machinery. The temperature of the fudge has to be perfect, too hot and it splats everywhere, too cold and it cracks. Fudgepackers have been unionized for 60 years and the profession dates back to the 1800's
