You sure can (allowing room for the expansion etc) BUT.... I wouldn't relish the thoughts of having a rubber water bottle in my freezer in contact with foodstuffs - and how clean to you keep it after you've used it as your ice pack which, by the sound of it, you're using for medical reasons ! ! !

Yes, I do this. Fill the bottle only halfway to allow for expansion of the ice. I then wrap it in a small handtowel, and put it all inside a freezer plastic bag, and lay it flat in the freezer.

I use it on my knee as I have arthritis from an accident a few years ago. When I get the bottle out, I crack the ice slightly to wrap it around my knee. The towel will absorb the condensation that forms on the outside of the bottle (so it won't slip around or dampen your furnishings), and it makes it more comfortable against your skin.

Hope this helps!

GOOD QUESTION...YES...This has been attempted by myself many times. Finally, I discovered the way. First, pour 2-3 small pots of salt into the bottle. Then add your hat water. Pop the lid on, and give a few shakes. Freeze away...

It should be fine as long as you allow for expansion. When water turns to ice it increases in volume by about 4%. Don't fill up the bag to the line- it's better to start off with too little water. Squeeze out any air before sealing.

I'm in winter here... longing for the heat.

Yes you can do this, just do not over fill the bottle and when you use it wrap it in a towel to prevent ice burns. I have hot flushes and often do this to relieve it.

Yes you can. When the water freezes the water will slightly expand, but the bottle being made of rubber will stretch to accommodate this.

Yes, you can freeze it. Just don't fill it completely - allow some room for the water to expand as it freezes.
