As a former woman in the army, trust me they aren't lonely. There are tons of girls like you out there for them, especially in the town where their base is.
They are men and they can develop feelings for you. But don't think you're the only one.

After this weekend, most men in the military are dogs not all, but most. Yes, they can develop feelings for you, but how do you know they are being real? They are dogs and will tell you anything to get into your pants. Just be careful...

Yes. It's as simple as little kids having a project in school to write to their "heroes" out there fighting for them. When you're out there doing what most people laugh about in college,etc.....its the simple things that matter the most. A kid calling you a hero in their eyes........to a mother sending your favorite cookies in a box.....*even if the cookies are crumbled from being shipped across the world*........to a "friend" slowly turning into a significant other by all the feelings/emotions that are poured out on paper.......you're his crutch, his link to "the real world" back home and thats why guys love getting mail and love showing off those letters that smell of perfume or pictures of the one they're going home to.....you're his motivation....take care of him.

Heh, I think for some of them their reason for fighting may be a signifigant other back home :) Also what you see on the surface is their training and stuff. I hear that the salors are the players though, they just put on that white hat and girls go for them.
(hmm i must get me a salor hat :P)

your question makes me think you want to write them a letter and have them fall for you...but i dont think you mean it that way. military guys definetely get lonely, so its really nice for them to have someone to look forward to coming home to. but a lot of them dont want to commit cuz it'll hurt the girl...complicated situations :(

Its really hard to say. They want the encouragment and support. They also don't have a lot of female companionship out there.

remember:army men and women are humans....they need our admiration and compassion to go one, ppl needto stop treating our military personnel as if their numbers or animals. If you were in their situation, what would you do...?
it just depends
