My sister (14yo) is traveling alone from Minnesota to Miami, and then to another country. Even though she's not considered a child, she doesnt speak english and she's pretty small to transfer from flights all alone.
Anyone knows?? I couldnt find anything on the MIA airport website, and the company she's flying is Northwest (but we can change)...

I agree with the above poster. Contact the airline your sister is travelling with, they can arange assistance for transfers or transits from one plane to another if needed. Although she is 14, you can still arrange her to be under airline attendant's supervision.

Yes, the airlines are very efficent with this and take great care of kids. The Stews love kids and go out of their way to make their flight great. they will walk the child between connections and consider it common place. No worries here. Contact the airline early and they will have special food that suits the young passenger and the kid will have a great time.

Almost all airlines require a child flying alone these days is given a aid in flying through flight attendents, when checking in they will be happy to help you!!

I think they have someone to accompany....she's 14 also...i'm more younger then that! Did your parents tell the flight company to tell somebody to accompany her???

if you tell the airlines then they will have someone to watch the kid and help them get to their next gate.
