Okay, you doggoned skeptics and unbelievers and atheists, stop torturing the poor Fundies. Don't you realize that this nonsense they embrace is, for many of them, maybe most, just about all they've got? Otherwise, what's left for a Fundy guy but doing things privately in his bathroom that I really don't want to think about, his addiction to Internet porn, his wish that a girl would, at long last, go out with them, his disturbing dreams about gay sex, his surfing the Internet for Holocaust deniers, proof that evolution never happened, that the Arctic ice is not melting, and, bless his horny heart, for Sally Sue's cell phone number? I want all of you atheists to cut it out! Sure, the 'Rapture' is yet another piece of fiction, but for a Fundy boy, it's his chance to be somebody, to take a seat beside his mythical god, along with several billion others, and to fly up to Heaven, wherever the heck it may be. Don't harass them--pity the pathetic little buggers.

Thanks, everybody. That's me for the night. I got lines to study--a week from today, Monday, I'm auditioning in Chicago for Lear, in W.S.'s 'King Lear.' And let me tell ya, that dwingling old chap's brain ain't for a lazy actor. Wow, but my main man Will Shakespeare knew a thing or two. Give me the shivers. Later, then--probably tomorrow for an afternoon hour.

I find it hard to pity folks that have made my life a living hell for years...(talking about life outside the internet here of course) Most fundies don't have pity for us.

I do have compassion for them. That's exactly why I do this.

You're right, though, in many regards they're probably happier with their delusions.

On the other hand, they want to force their delusion-based values into the laws of the land (re: abortion, homosexuality, drug use, tax status for religion, etc.), so they're not the poor innocents you might think.

what does the Holocaust has to do with your anti religion rant? Christianity was the intelectual instigator for the Holocaust. Jews were for centuries singled out as the murderers of Christ.

There's plenty of other, more constructive things a Fundy guy could be doing, so as an atheist demon myself I'll keep at it until someone finds a way of exorcising me.

Chuckle. Okay, point taken.

I do pity them, and that bothers me -- because pity is a form of hatred. I hope that one day my pity will change to genuine compassion.

In the meantime, I'm trying to engage them. Yes, I said engage, not enrage (although I have to admit, that does happen) -- because I think they deserve better. At least I hope they do. I hope we all deserve better.

Sorry, but I just can't have pity for the types of people that stand outside soldiers funerals holding signs that say things like "Thank God For Dead Soldiers." Just can't do it.
They'll see some sympathy when they start to show some humanity.

Hm. Perhaps you should not have taken that last line of coke...

Seriously, that is not cool man. I know we don't have any commandments or anything, but this kind of wildflinging ad hominem attacks is not helping the cause.
