I had a dream where I met a dog and was hesitant to pet it but I did. It started growling/barking and was biting me. I was trying to calm it down and I do believe it did stop but, was right back at it again. If it help at all my ex girlfriend had found a new boyfriend that same night if that means anything and we were friends but, than she decided that she wants nothing to do with me.

My book says all domesticated animals are symbolisms of aspects of ourselves unless the you recognize the dog as belonging to someone specific. Then it becomes traits of the other person. It says if you have been bitten by a dog, it represents fear, treachery, pain, and loss. It also says if a dog turns bad on you, it can refer to someone betraying you. The act of "biting" can also mean snapping at others, but if it is someone else's dog, they can be snapping at you.

You want your ex back but you know that to get back together would only lead to disaster. You are hurt by all this but you know that if you two were to go back out it would be constant fighting/pain, and even though there would be momentary bouts of calmness and things being ok...it would always end up back in the same place.

There's another poster on here that almost nailed it but I'll just explain further.
Dogs are loyal and love their owners. It was biting you because you are hurt and feel betrayed.
Native American interpretation means what I have posted above or that you need to confront your own loyalty to what is bothering you. Ask yourself why you still need to feel loyal to someone that hurt you?

There is someone that can be a potential enemy if you provoke him/her. You should stay away from this person. In case that you will provoke him/het anyway, don't try to mend the things back because you will only make it worse. Just try to step away and avoid any future confrontation.
