I have a RCA. It is about four years old with a built in guide and parental controls. The problem is, I changed my pass word when I was drunk and I cant remember it. All my fav programs are blocked and I cant unblock them without the parental code. Does anyonr know how to fix this? Is there anyway to fix it?

The first thing I would try is

Get drunk again it may not help but
who needs a good reason to get drunk :)

Two methods newer TV's
Press and Hold the Menu button on the TV (not the remote)
and Press the Vol - key on the remote
WHILE THE PASSWORD ENTRY SCREEN is showing on TV
The other for older TV's enter 9688 for a password reset
in the password field

To fix this problem, unplug the tv, let it sit for about 10-20 min and replug it back in. It should reset. If it still doesnt call RCA.

call circuit city or Best buy if they carry RCA ask to speak to a sales person they should be able to guide you Thur changing your password ,if they are unable to do so they can give you a number to where you can call RCA for help.

Call RCA customer service have your TV model number handy. They may help you. Hopefully there is a universial unlock password that they can give you.

Good luck. We've all been there. Drunk that is!!! :-D

unless you take out the pixel box and reset your "code box", it is impossible to fix that.

the best way when you get another tv is NOT to set a password.

if you have kids, let them watch TV only when you are around

all i can think of doing is unplugging your tv for awhile, if not there are some mighty fine tv techs who use yahoo answers and they know who they are im sure they will post an answer.
