Do you think the wave motion would make you sick?

As long as you aren't too far along in your pregnancy, you are free to travel in whatever mode of transportation you so choose! It COULD make you more sick. If you've already had problem with nausea in your pregnancy, don't be surprised if this trip doesn't help much. I've heard, though, that cruise ships don't have all the movement like a regular boat. Hopefully you won't get sea sick. Just inform your doc that you are going on a cruise and he'll give you suggestions on what, if any, medications you could take to help ease the nausea. Have fun!

If you are near/into your third trimester, you cannot go on a cruise. As far as sea-sickness, consider taking Ginger tablets with you. Although I have never used them personally, I have heard alot of people say they are very safe and can be used for children. Ginger is all natural, so it is probably OK while you are pregnant, just be sure to ask your doctor first.
Also, try not to cruise September-November, because the waves tend to be roughest during these months (regarding the carribbean/Bahamas).

Also, make sure you purchase medical insurance for your trip. It should cost under $75, and will cover the cost if you need to be rushed to a local hospital. (But check the fine print, I'm not sure if pregnancy is covered!). Without this insurance, it can cost you upwards of $50,000 in the small chance you need to be airlifted from a plane, and regular insurance does not cover this!

I purchased medical insurance for my 65 year old father for $60 dollars, and for my 28 year old self for $18 dollars. You have to purchase this within 24 hours of purchasing your cruise in order for it to include pre-existing conditions. Be sure to check out insurances, buying time restrictions, and the fine print before booking your cruise. Take care and have a blast.

It would depend on how far along you are. I know Carnival doesn't let anyone over 6 months go on the cruise. Some people i spoke with said they couldn't even feel the waves and that they were fine. So if you are only a couple of months pregnant you should go for it and just have fun!!!

Always talk with your doctor first but there shouldn't be a problem. Cruises are relatively benign - there isnt a whole lot of movement. People who get "sea sick" though, do so whether or not they are pregnant. Good luck, have fun.

Maybe, you should probably consult your doctor before traveling.

There are some wrist bands you can buy at the drug store that help with nausea, I bought them and wear them when I go on planes. They have a little ball in them that you put on a certain part of the inside of your wrist.

Lets not "labour" over the matter, why not ? At least you are at sea level and the speed is a lot less than an aircraft! go for it.

Its fine, just dont let anyone with an Xray machine near you as it can lead to abnormalities in the foetus.
