SODA. We've lived in Oregon and now California and it's Soda. My mom is from BC, Canada and she always calls it pop. Once in a while I'll hear a sodapop and my sister in the south calls everything Coke. Even Pepsi or 7-Up.

It's pop here in northern Illinois but thats just a short version of soda pop anyway.

I really like barley pops the best.

SODA because I grew up in NYC, and always will be soda, no matter where I move (even though everyone else in Oregon says pop).

Soda, the first time I said this in front of my mom she said "what is a soda? You know it is called a drink. You been hanging with those yankees again."

See I live in NC and I was working at the time with relocated yanks. That was always her excuse for everything I did wrong. Now my best friend is a yankee.

Sorry mom.

What about saying: " hey can I have a soda pop." It sounds kinda good.

If you say pop: Say it like your from Michigan it will be funny.

Soda. I grew up in NYC and that is what it's called.
We used to make fun of my cousins who called it pop and they made fun of us saying that a soda should have ice cream in it, as in Ice Cream Soda.
