ummm, am I the only one who missed what the "problem" is?
Would you honestly be open to hearing what a priest has to say (and praying)? Do you need medication?

Some priests are psychoanalysts. Whether he is a priest or not, I'd choose the psychoanalyst. I mean, that's what s/he went to school for.

Apples to oranges I think. I you have a problem that is so serious that you need a psychoanalyst, even a priest would (hopefully) tell you so.

Psychoanalyst. They won't try to change you if you don't want to, they will just merely point out the problem and help you cope.

It depends on the problem. You need to decide if you require any medication or just someone to talk to. If you chose a priest then hopefully he will direct you if he feels you need medication. Neither is allowed to divulge anything discussed with you.

I would put my money on the psychoanalyst. He's got no axe to grind.

Depends. If you are very religious, try a priest. If it is a relationship problem, try an older more experienced adult.

i would try therapy first. you will be VERY fortunate to find a priest who can help you without a lot of strings and nonsense attached; at least a therapist won't try to 'recruit' you to the cause!

are you asking which to go to? Hell, go down to your local Catholic Church and go to confession, start out with "forgive me father for I have sinned it has been ___ years since my last confession.." Lie to him about being Catholic, it doesnt matter, I only tell you this because it 100% cheaper than going to a psychoanalyst.....

That's a tough one: a priest or a psycho.
