All you need to do is take your marriage certificate, your social security card, and your spouse to the local PSD so that they can enroll you in DEERS and update your spouses page 2 information. Once that is complete you go to the I.D. office and after verifying your DEERS information they take your picture and make your I.D. right there. The whole process will generally take about an hour if there isn't a long line.
The pay should start immediately (BAH). You need to fill out your TriCare application ASAP. Depending on when you submit the paperwork, your TriCare coverage will usually start the 1st of the following month. If you have any problems or questions about the application you can contact the TriCare customer service or your command's HBA (Health Benefits Advisor). You can also download the required forms from the TriCare website.

no such thing as apay raise for gettingmarried.
once you have the marriage certificate, you can go to the Pass and ID office( with the military member) to be enrolled into DEERS and get your ID. at that point you will automatically be in the system under Tricare Standard. You must enroll into Prime(online or at the Tricare Office) and you must enroll(for a cost) in Dental.
then the military member must go to PSD and request a change in his BAH.. because that is the ONLY thing that changes when you get married.. he gets a little extra Housing allowance over Single sailors. That's it. Base pay remains the same. If the paperwork is submitted before the 20th of the month, it should go into effect the first of the next month, but more likely it will take an extra month on top of that to kick in.

My husbands in the Army, but its pretty much the same paper work. It took me about 4 months, but I was dealing with going overseas, so it should only take you 2 months or so. You have to go get you ID at any military base, doesn't matter what branch, as soon as you get your ID card you will have tri-care, but can only use it on a military clinic. Its tons of paper work your hubby has to do. And the pay takes a VERY long time to go though, I have been married a year and it still hasn't happened.

well in the navy the faimly member can not get tricare they will have champus. and all champus paper work is dont by the hospital . also the marriage should have been turn the very next day to start the process and you do not get a pay raise for being married what you get is BAS VHA and BAQ. and for the id card you need to do the paper work which will require you to show the marrage paper work and then you take your spouse over to the PSD office to get there dependent ID also sigh up for the deers program. all can be done at the personell office.
i was in the navy for 16 yrs. now i am a navy vet

Almost the same day they get turned depending on where you/he are stationed. All you need to do is turn in the certified copy of the marriage certificate to PSD or the Personnel office on the ship/ Then that person enters the spouse into the system through DEERS which will enable you to get the ID card and Tricare access. The spouse will need to go to a PSD to get the ID card issued to them. You will need to bring an ID card application plus the active duty Sailor for your first ID card. Then you will need to go to a military hospital or branch clinic. You will need to go to the Tricare office with the spouse and complete DEERS paperwork to get into Tricare. You will need to bring your new ID card with you so go to PSD first.

make sure the marriage certificate is put into the active duty members service record/
also, if the active duty members spouse isn't military, i think they need proof of social security card and certificate. once the members spouse is in the service record, then the member will have to enter his spouse into DEERS and call/go in to the tricare office to get things hooked up..
but once the spouse or any other dependents is in the service record, PSD should start the extra pay asap.
hope i could help

Your BAH change should be reflected on your next LES, if it isn't don't worry, you'll get back pay for the month or month(s) that it didn't take place. One person said she's been waiting for more than a year, that sounds completely absurd, and if I were her I'd be in finance every day until it went through. I'd say go to finance and check up on it if it takes more than 2 months, sometimes they loose paper work, or just neglect to do it. As for the ID card, you just need to bring your marriage cert. and your husband down to the ID place to get one. Once you get your ID, you can go to the health clinic and enroll in tri-care.

Pay raise - there is NO pay raise for getting married. Not sure where you got that idea. His BAS remains the same.... it's HIS, not yours. The only difference will be if you are living on base or off base. If you are in military housing, you will see nothing. If you are living offbase, then his BAH will go up slightly, if he had it changed to "with dependents". And that should take just 2 or 3 months to get totally up and running.
