The three topics which suggest that Jesus never existed are:
History
Comparative Religion
Solar Mythology
History. It's inconceivable that during the alleged time of Jesus no one bothered to write down anything about this most extraordinary person, yet we have nothing. Even the earliest Bible reference to Jesus dates to at least A.D. 64, and the first Gospel, the Gospel of Mark, dates to at least A.D. 70 (and probably to A.D. 170).
Comparative Religion shows that the story of Jesus already existed in numerous religions prior to the alleged time of Jesus. Chrishna, Horus, Orpheus, Bacchus, Osiris, Dionysus, Buddha, Apollo, Hercules, Adonis, Ormuzd, Mithras, Indra, Œdipus, Quetzalcoatle, etc. The motif of a Crucified Savior was already extant prior to the alleged time of Jesus.
Solar Mythology shows the story of Jesus is just an allegory for the sun passing through the Zodiac and the passage of the seasons of the year. Jesus travels throughout his one year ministry, and the description of his travels exactly match that of the sun traveling through the Zodiac during the year. Here we have the origin of the Jesus story. This common origin explains why all the stories of crucified saviors are essentially the same.

TEK, maybe you should try doing some research of your own rather than dismiss things out of hand with just your opinion.

Of COURSE Jesus existed. The Bible says it, so that proves it.
I have another book which describes Santa's workshop at the North Pole. The book says it, so I believe it.
I have yet another book of the sacred unicorn texts. The book says it; I believe it; that settles it.
And my books are unchanging. They will say the same things tomorrow as they do today as they did yesterday. I am always amazed by this.

Not much is actually known about the much hyped Mithras or Mithraic religion. There are no surviving writings of that religion - most of what anti-Christian activists believe they "know" about Mithras comes not from actual validated historical research, but poorly researched pop religion books. Certainly the specific claim about Mithras having been "crucified" (or any similar unsupportable claims) cannot be claimed based on any known history of that religion.
Bacchus certainly bears no obvious relationship with Jesus. Jesus was not reborn in another woman's womb after being eaten by Titans - he was bodily resurrected from a crucifixion.
Quetzalcoatl is not associated with anything analogous to a crucifixion. Some of the other names in the above litany appear to be tossed in even more randomly than that, for purposes that do not seem to exceed name dropping.

You might as well ask if Homer or William Shakesphere existed.
If not, then someone who looked and sounded like him who lived at the same time and had the same name certainly did! Someone somewhere had to inspire the religion that we call Christianity.
If Christianity is simply an collection of eariler beliefs, then why hasn't anyone produced any hard evidence of the Horus myth becoming the Jesus myth, for example?
And seeing how that many early Christians, including most of the original apostles, died for their faith, then what would their motive be for knowingly lying while bein tortured to death?

I would disagree.
History shows that Jesus did exist. Your statements referenceing the proposed dates of the authorship of the gospels runs contrary to the vast manuscript evidence.
Comparative religion is all good and well. You can find a great many similarities in most religions. However, it is the differences, not the similarities that matter.
The zodiac position starts off wrong. Jesus ministry lasted 3 1/2 years, not one.
Finally, please keep in mind that alternative theory and alternative explainations are not refutations. Show us why we should consider your position to be the better one.

I think Jesus the man existed.
He may have been profoundly wise.
He may have been extremely altruistic, and willing to die to get people to learn some moral concepts.
The one liners attributed to him make him a marketing genius.
The slain God concept has been around in one form or another in many religions.
It would only make sense to hijack the concept.
In the end though, the morals that clearly show through in his lore were hijacked and deemphasized by what are now considered established religions.
All in all I think he was a man, nothing more, nothing less.
Blessed Be

"The fool says in his coronary heart there is not any God" and that comparable fool usually says that Jesus never existed even although there's a multitude of evidence that He did. there are a number of scientists (those beings that atheists seem to worship) who know devoid of shadow of a doubt that Jesus lived in this earth in simple terms over 2000 years in the past and replaced into crucified via Roman squaddies.

Not only did He exist, He still does. Just because He returned to heaven doesn't mean He ceased to exist. The second priceless gift God gave us, The Holy Spirit, will be very happy to confirm this for you. You just need to be able to tell the difference between thoughts inspired by an unholy spirit from those inspired by The Holy Spirit. I will give you 2 hints: absolute truth and unconditional love.

You answered your own question. but I have a point to make. Most lasting legends/myths start out as fact. It is pretty well proven that Hercules and King Arthur were actual people, but, of course, their feats were nothing near what we have come to accept.
I imagine that Jesus did exist, and maybe he did stand up for the poor, and maybe he was a noble spirit. What do you think?

I doubt that the writers of the Gospels would have simply invented someone, and then placed his lifetime within living memory. What is far more likely is that a historical Jesus existed, and then all the other stuff was tacked onto his mythos to make Christianity more attractive to pagans.

Hmmm. How many of those other folks have 12 guys who endured torture, imprisonment and death proclaiming that they saw their dude rise from the dead? If he didn't rise, it's pretty hard to explain why his twelve buddies were willing to endure all of that.
Comparative religion that cannot compare the incomparable is farcical.
