i'm never going to be with him and i never even really was with him but i was so attracted to him that now i'm not attracted to anyone anymore because its not him. i regret that i got intimate with him and have all this pain and longing in my head. ill never see him again and i dont think i would really want to but... cant forget him anyway.

this is stupid, irrational. how do i get over this?

The way I got over my first girlfriend was whenever I felt this need to think about her I would force myself to remember bad times, not nice ones. 3 weeks later, I was cured. Hope this helps...

Forgeting a guy you love/loved is never an easy thing to do. I should know, I'm trying to right now. Treat yourself as you would a friend in your siutation. Give yourself time and try not to think about him as much. Sure, you'll never forget how much he meant to you, but you will find someone else soon enough. Let your healing take it's full course. You may go through many different stages. There's anger, saddness, hoplessness, and so many more. Give yourself time, and the "wound" will get smaller, but you'll always have a "scar" to remind you of what you felt for this guy that you're tryign to get over.

Don't get over it. Just learn from it. Cherish your memories don't live with regret. Regret causes stress and stress causes wrinkles. One day you will meet someone and you will be knocked off your feet because you didn't think you could like anyone. Then you will realize that you don't think about whats his face anymore. I was in that same position....but i found another guy...just to keep my mind off the other. I stopped talking to that other guy and kept my self busy....I finally got over him and in the end i found the one that i was truly in love with. I hope it works out as good for you as it did for me. Be strong! It always gets better!

Cry it out, pick one morning, night or after noon, stay home by yourself, put on sad music and then cry it out. Write about it, paint do something that time you choose, the bow to yourself not to think about him again. then when you catch yourself thinking about him go and do something else. try to keep busy, keep your mind distracted.
