Does he count?

Australia has a universal health care system that was introduced by an atheist Prime Minister (we have had a few of those). Forget your money-grubbing so-called Christian evangelists and do something for the poor in your country, they won't. Why not elect a President with a brain and some compassion? That would be a novelty.

Hm, great point, maybe they are all working for Satan and wants you to die.
It is a scriptural fact that if you keep the Laws found in your Scripture you will prevent yourself for getting a curse and then dying.
Satan told Eve you shall surely not die, and now in these days you see an epidemic in almost every disease as the Savior said it will be in the last days, it would be incurable disease epidemics due to the rapid decline of morals.
Scriptures says that the reason people are deceived is because they want to be deceived. And then the sorrow comes after they bring the curses to their bodies and it finally overcomes them. The minds are so warped that a person going through chemo will tell you that they are blessed when you ask how are you doing.
READ DUET 28 TO FIND OUT HOW TO RECEIVE BLESSINGS OR CURSES.
WAKE UP PEOPLE, KEEP THE LAWS AND YOU WANT NEED HEALTH CARE, YAHWEH HAS THE BEST HEALTH PLAN AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PAY A DIME!!!
Jer 17:5 ¶ Thus saith Yahweh; Cursed [be] the man that trusteth in man (Doctors), and maketh flesh his strength, and whose heart departeth from Yahweh.

Christians, just like any other group have varying views on whether a socialist health care system would work better for this country than what we now have.

I don't know. Its really weird. You'd think that Christians would be Liberals considering that Jesus was. But no, instead they're on the side of the backstabbing moneygrubbing powerhungry Republicans.

Many Christians I have known are republicans or believe that every man is for himself when it comes to things of that nature. You don't work to pay taxes for others to get well; you take care of your own. Of course these same ones, some of them would refer a sinning Christian to a social service (Medicaid) to avoid helping them carry their burden if they became pregnant. So it makes no sense to me either.

Lots of mainline denominations, church councils, and non-profit religious justice organizations have been sending petitions and calling their political leaders for several years. Groups like Sojourners for instance. I don't know about evangelicals.

Because they know the solution to the problem cannot be found in Government - the most wasteful and inefficient way to solve any problem.

Because it is not a spiritual matter perhaps. Jesus, in his ministry, says that we, as individuals, should care for one another. I have not found the passage that says that the government should. Mercy is an act for the believer, not the worldly government. Government has its job, and the people have theres.

because they don't want to put forth the money to see it happen, and they look upon it as a political thing. which is not to say that they don't dabble in politics,
