Been there, done that. Yes, I'd take it, because I reached a point in my life where I could not function in the world. I got stablized on medication and now I've moved out of my parents' house and have a full time job. I'd still be holed up in my room at the house miserable and hiding from the world if I didn't take the medication.

It depends on what your condition is. I myself am suffering from anxiety and saw 2 drs who told me to take medication. I went to a third dr who told me not to take it, and to see a psychologist instead. I now realise that the medication would have only temporaily masked the symptoms, whereas the psychotherapy is the only solution to getting better for good. However if you have a mental illness such as depression or a specific phobia etc, then medication is essential in helping you to get better. Good luck, I hope that you can make a decision soon :-)

No. Ive beed on them before. It makes me feel like im killing my own personality. Even if i was really messed up i would never take them again. But hell maybe i feel that way because i have a different chemical makeup. But you really should try but if that starts to happen stop taking them or youll regret it trust me. Then again im not really an expert.

I would.
Feeling I'm an outcast, unable to participate in life, unable to function daily in my everyday responsibilities, having difficulty reasoning and speaking and communicating, hearing or seeing things that startle me - that are not there............really interfere. Feeling so sad all day every day, saps all my energy before I can even get out of bed. I feel so alone. I know other people are able to deal with their problems, are able to have relationships, are able to participate in life.........And I just want to be normal enough to participate, to be able to enjoy a sunset, to be able to deal with my memories and my fears. I want to be able to reason well enought to carry my part of a conversation. I want to feel I am alive and that I have value.
And it is such a relief and a joy to be able to live among other people without them thinking I'm weird or incompetant.
I am so glad to be alive ..........
even if I do need to take those little pills each day.
It's worth it to me.

That depends on the mental disease, sometimes for depression relief you just take them for a short period of time, and there's no risk of addiction. I would.

I was told to and I did! Why would I want to continue to suffer when there's a way to avoid it?
