Not only are they black listing our brave men and women with their anti-war and anti-troop signs, but if you look closely at the girl in the background, you can see that she's standing on our FLAG!!

Our troops are serving tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, to help liberate those countries while at the same time defending our right to freedom, and this is what they get in return!?

If you could do something about people like this, what would you do?

Now this is going to be the most unlikely of alliances; I do not support the bulk of this war effort, particularly as it is being waged in Iraq. My reasons are legion, but none of them are in any way anti-military where the individual service member is concerned. I am myself a former military member and I am intimately aware of the personal sacrifices these brave men and women make for us daily around the globe. That being said, when I saw the photo you provided I was viscerally disgusted by the ignorance displayed (up to and including the desecration of our flag), so oddly enough, I find that we are in agreement on our mutual distaste for that spectacle. The thing is, this protest, no matter how ill-conceived and thoughtlessly presented, was likely a lawful expression of their right to be heard...yet another right currrently being defended abroad by the same servicemembers they vilify, so I suppose there's nothing to be done in that regard. What you have done and are doing to call attention to this situation is noble and noteworthy, as evidenced by the fact that you have established (with at least one person who basically disagrees with you) some common ground. I applaud your efforts and I thank you for your insight.

Well, unfortunately, I would have to support their right to peaceably assemble and their rights to freedom of speech and expression as currently defined by our constitution and interpreted by the Supreme Court of The United States. I find their action disgusting and apparently without any real agenda...they are not calling for troop withdrawal or expressing a position other than a favorable attitude towards the terrorists that are killing our soldiers. Unfortunately, the demonstration in and of itself is not sufficient to arrest and try for treason. Although most veterans and military would be repulsed by this, most of us will still defend their rights ... that's what our men and women in the armed forces are charged with, to protect the Constitution of The United States against all enemies Foreign and Domestic.

That is some pretty ignorant behavior.

I'm afraid my own rules of civil discourse and behavior would be thrown out the window, had I been there.

Zeni (below): there is no speech in flag desecration. The red of the 7 stripes represent the blood of my fallen brothers. Disrespecting the 'living embodiment of the US Constitution' has nothing to do with free speech and I am sworn to protect the constitution.

No, on no account. you place forth a number of particularly ignorant, inane, moronic and stupid innovations in that short rambling paragraph. i think useful that if what you suggested approximately your ideals are real - it is particularly clever for the properly-known guy or woman to discover you to be boorish and dumb and hate you for it. it could be incorrect in the event that they beat you up or went out of their thank you to insult or injury you. I do think of it makes ideal experience for human beings to discover you repulsive and be disgusted thoroughly once you walk right into a room. Have a dazzling day! playstation OMG, you're hysterical. you're between the moron bigots who think of Hitler had something to do with the Catholic Church. ill. Do you recognize that Hitler murdered over six million Jews and over 2 million Catholics to contain monks and Nuns? you're ill.

I'd show them pictures of radical Muslim protests in the Middle East holding similar signs, and ask if they'd like to go live with those who are obviously kindred spirits.

Seriously--if you disdain your country, your troops, your leaders, and yourself THAT MUCH... then why bother staying in a place you harbor so much hatred for? None of the rest of us here need people like that around; they really don't serve any purpose nor do they contribute anything worthy to American society in general. I'm sure their "kindred spirits" in repressive Sharia governments in the Middle East will lavish them with kindness and tolerance, though.

What side are those people on?

I don't know any liberals who equate 9/11 with God's vengeance against fags. That's right wing Robertson crapola they're spouting; so they're Christian extremists.

The first person on this question who says those folks are liberals is an idiot who can't see and can't reason. Looks like the righties have a little disagreement between themselves here.

Makes you think. If you can, that is.

no need to hate. Our troops are defending our right of freedom of speech among other things.

say a prayer for their ignorance.

the best thing you could do is enlist and show how you really feel about your country.

That actually made me cry..
who says thank you for IED's and dead soldiers while smiling?

I cannot understand nor may I ever comprehend what those people think they are doing.

Lets see them hold that sign up in Russia or somewheres..

Yes, it's disgusting. They're even protesting at soldiers funerals.

BTW, these are NOT liberals. They are members of a radical church who believe God is punishing us for the behavior of homosexuals. There's extremists on all sides!
