And THAT is why I don't go to a church, any church. Hypocritical jerks, the lot of them.

Check out the story in Luke 7 about Jesus, Simon the Pharisee, and the woman of the city. Jesus said that those who are forgiven little, love little, but those who are forgiven much, love much. Your snobby woman might use a little reminder of Simon the Pharisee.

Check this out, too:
Luke 18:9
To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable:

and then Jesus told the parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector. Remind your woman friend of that parable, too!

Some sins are more obvious than others. The woman in your church looks down on those who have committed the more obvious ones. She, her snobbery aside, has probably committed the less obvious ones, so inobvious she doesn't even see them herself!

I'm so sorry you are having a problem with a fellow church member. Sometimes people don't have enough trials and tribulations and end up spoiled. Pray for her just like Jesus said in Matthew 5 and hopefuly she will come around. She just might be very shy or has some personal problems too. You will see, Jesus can change her attitude or yours. God bless.

If your friend is Christian then your friend should not be gossiping about other people or standing in judgement over anyone. We have our own walk with God to consider and should keep our own counsel about others. Let God be the judge of who is a good Christian or not or who is a snob. It is very easy to label people in this world behind their backs but beware this does not backfire on you.
May God give you the wisdom to seek His truth and not your own imagined things. That lady may be closer to God than any of you
Best wishes, Mike.

To be honest if your going to church she don't have the problem you do, you are passing condamnation on some one you are jealous of,
God grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change, Grant me the courage to change the things i can, And the wisdom to know the difference.

I am a alcoholic and addict recovering for 31/2 years i dont mean to be so blunt, im sure you are closer to god then i am but i thought you needed call on the mat.

You have a lot of great answers here...
Just one of the problems we encounter in church and the world outside the church. I remember when i gave my heart to Jesus and went to different churches, i expected ev/one to be loving, accepting and generous..soon found out ev/one's human and imperfect (just like myself).....
Every human-being is just looking to get through this life the best we can..being Christian just means we are redeemed back to God through Jesus, and we're being changed as we run the race (overcoming our past state) we're all in it together...try praying for the lady, she might turn out to be a good friend and a great support to you...God works in amazing ways..and everything we go through makes us more Christ-like..and that's definitely worth all persecution...
Shalom

Edit: i now understand you're other Q..xxx

As a Christian you should only be concerned about what God thinks of you. You don't fully know this persons' life, because you haven't walked in her shoes. She could be struggling just like the rest of us, only portraying or showing it in a different way. If you pray for people who upset you in some way, you'll find greater peace of mind. Guarantee it! God bless.

A lot of people are like that, which proves they are not real Christians. She might say she is....but you know a true Christian would not act like that. She might read the Bible but has no love for God. When you have love for God, you do what he tells you to do in the Bible. And he asks us to be loving, kind, and patient to everyone. So, all I can say is that she is not a REAL Christian from the heart.

Judgement is up to God, not other people. I think this may be what is meant by pride being a sin.

Are you wanting to know how to handle her? Just be polite and find your crowd.
