Anyone know how to make flip flops out of Royal icing? Need them for Saturday.

Actually you would be better off making the flip flops out of meringue or marzipan and decorating them with icing the shape will hold better and they will stand out better. Royal icing is good for a base and simple forms but Meringue and marzipan are better for clever accents. Good Luck!

I am not sure what you mean by flipflops. Could you tell me more?

Royal icing is nice for a decorating application because you can leave it loose (less stiff) or tighten it up (make it thicker and stiffer).

I have found that most Royal Icing applications have to be practiced to get the best results.....

That's entirely up to you...they'll taste the same. I'd save time and work (in that you don't have to use extra mixing bowl and spatula) by making a bit more cream cheese frosting than I need to cover the cake, then color the left-over frosting orange and make the carrot out of that.

you should try making flip flops out of fondant. it would be easier because you can roll it and shape it instead of piping it.
