If all the illegal immigrants came here legally, and spoke English when out in public. I am not an American Indian therefore I can not say this was my home first. My family came here and wanted to learn English many moons ago. I think more people would have more of an understanding on this issue if things went this way. I don't care who comes here, just please learn the language and come legally. That's all I ask. Does anyone else feel this way?

That is all anti-illegals/pro-Americans have been saying. But... We are called racist for doing so. Why is wanting our immigration laws to be enforced like all other countries, considered racist??? We welcome all that come here legally. That's how we maintain a beautiful country. If we continue to allow these criminals to illegally cross our borders, then this country will eventually be 3rd world just like Mexico.

I'm not sure I'd be OK with exactly the same people coming here legally & speaking english. That's a little too much like hypothetical amnesty. What I would be fine with is the same number of legal immigrants coming here from around the world to replace those illegals whom we deport.

I don't even really care what language they speak in public - as long as they are also sufficiently fluent in english to communicate with Americans, as well.

The federal Government should start by

1) Removing all signs in Spanish from all Federal buildings.

2) Imposing vigorous English language and Civics test standards before giving ANY immigration benefits.

And finally, declare English the official language of the land.

The reason they are here illegally is because they cannot come here legally for some reason.

One reason could be that they have a criminal record and can't risk being caught.

One reason is that they have overstayed their visas and did not renew because they did not have legitimate jobs to report.

One reason is that they were dragged here by their parents when they were children and they don't know what they can do now.

And the stupid reason is that they thought the wait time was too long, so they just came here.

yeah. i'm fine with an immigrant coming here legally and learning how to speak english. that's great. if only they would come here legally and learn english. but i DO want the illegals out or to become a citizen...i doubt either will happen.

and, it's getting to the point where i'm beyond ticked off. i went to get a driving handbook but, if you wanted to just pick one up, they were only is spanish. i would have had to wait for two hours to get an english driver's booklet. if you can't speak english well enough to understand the booklet, you shouldn't be on the damn road.

Thats all we want is for people to be here legally and abide by our rules. But instead They come here illegally and insist that we give them amnesty and refuse anything else. thats why most people want them out.

We can't handle the number of LEGAL immigrants we're getting now, much less the illegal ones.
