i may be crazy but this is what I think it means:
everyone is doing the same thing (kickin the trees && in real like it's eating "frozen hamburgers") so the dude gets an inspiration to "break away" (hehe) from what everyone is doing and stops kickin the trees (and makes an "unfrozen hamburger")
lol... i watch wayyy too much tv

A really stupid Wendy's commercial. I like Wendy's burgers, but if I'd never had one, that commercial would make me think twice. The dude with the red Pippy-Longstocking wig (truly more Pippy than Wendy) is really lame-o.

i think that commercial is so funny!!!
i think your NOT supposed to be able to get it.
It's just a market strategy.
you'll be like "why are is the guy with the Wendy's wig and all those other people kicking trees? and then stop for the Hot Juicy Burger? hmm. i better go buy this burger and see if it is really that good..."

Before Dave the image or Icon of Wendy's was.... his daughter who supposedly had red hair was the face of Wendy's.
The kicking off the trees mystifies me also.

Wendy's commercials have really gotten stupid since Dave Thomas croaked. That was one of the things I actually liked about Wendy's before that was that they didn't need screaming morons, people acting like jackasses, or EXTREME bull **** to advertise their food. Sadly Wendy's has decided let's appeal to the lowest common denomonator crowd.

Its a variation on the old saying your mom used to use.
"If everyone else jumped off a cliff, would you do it too?"
The people represent fast-food restaurants. Kicking the tree, as a group, represents the way "everybody does" fast food. Which is being portrayed as being as useful as kicking a tree.
The Wendy's pigtailed guy realizes he has a "better" way, and stops wasting his time kicking a tree.
This represents Wendy's "new approach" to the business of fast-food burgers.

LOL. I love this comercial, my fave.
Ok, I'm guessing it likes, they're kicking trees means that they aren't having big, juicy burgers. So then the guy says; "Wait, this is all wrong" meaning it's wrong that they're kicking trees and not having big, juicy burgers.
That's what I am guessing the kicking trees thing is about.
