I have had a heat rash on my chest for a few years now how come it is lasting for so long.. Is there anything that will get rid of it???

If you have had it for years, are you sure it is heat rash and not something else? If it is heat rash, you should not have it in the winter. I suggest you see a dermatologist to be sure you are not mistaken on what it is. There are other skin conditions that can appear to be heat rash but are really something else entirely.

If it is heat rash:
Heat rash is caused by blocking the sweat glands so to prevent it, don't block the glands! So, don't dress too warmly...dress appropriately for the temperature and for the activity you are doing at the time (only a light cotton shirt or go shirtless when you can).

To treat:
remove clothing
stay in a cool, shady area
cool compresses, shower or bath
air dry...do not use a towel
calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream

Please see a dermatologist!
