Additional: A newspaper doesn't work for this joke because you have it written out, so instead of being "read" as it would be in the old joke you have it as "red". The joke was originally meant to be a pun. When it was written out as "red" then the answer became "A zebra with a sunburn".

whats black and white and red all over is a newspaper because the newspaper is black and white and red all over and read are homophones.so thats how it is newspaper

newspapers arent RED.
and it has to be a dead mom zebra. it was shot and the baby was eaten by a lion, but then the lion didnt want it anymore so it threw it up and they baby zebra only had one leg, then it went to a warriors game and it was happy again. because he had pizza and played with Thunder and got new legs.
