Crate training for a puppy is not cruel. It will keep the dog safe while you are training it. When the dog is safe and potty trained you can leave the door to the crate unlatched at all time. Unfortunately I have found that training stops because the owners get lazy and just leave the dog in the crate to avoid bad behavior. This is the cruel part. Good behavior is praised and bad behavior is corrected, not avoided. So you should attend puppy classes and then on to obedience classes and you will have a great pet, one that is safe and reliable. I mostly have dachshunds and they need training.

Well, first off crate training is not cruel. Second off, what you have posted as a link is also a crate. It's a pink one, but it is still a crate. It's just not a good one to leave a dog in for extended periods of unsupervised time
Dogs are den animals, they like to be nestled inside something. Crates re-create the denlike experience and if trained properly (by making the crate or den a pleasant experience, your dog will go in there all on it's own, even when not required to be in there!
I would not leave your dog unsupervised in this crate because it is destroyable. All you need is an anxious dog, or a bored dog, and that dog will shred this crate in a manner of a few minutes to an hour. You then are out the money for hte crate, your dog is loose in the house (who knows what else he will get into, or pee on!) and perhaps you will be making a trip to the emergency room because whatever he ingested from shredding this cloth material has now plugged up his gut.
By him a wire crate, put a soft pad on the bottom and your dog will be happy and healthy. Crates are not cruel!

That thing looks like a gimmick. I think if you have a small pen with only a pad and a bed and food and water then the puppy will choose the pad constantly although there will be accidents or use a large crate with the above stuff because the pad is the key and may be less cruel to you. If you have much time at home you can really really watch the puppy but that is very time consuming.

...and the difference between that and a crate is what??? color and strength? It looks like that thing could be chewed or torn apart and become dangerous to your puppy. Get a larger crate if you are worried about space....put paper down and some toys. Your baby will feel more safe in a crate when you are at work/school, than wondering around an empty home. I on the other hand, couldn't stand to hear Sidney bawl his eyes out, so I ensured he was potty train really well, had lots of toys and gave him the run of our chalet. To this day he is very spoiled and a wonderful pet. mastiss360.com

Honey that is the same thing as crate training. Crate training isn't inhumane. It actually protects your puppy from getting into things when your eyes can't be on them all the time. No one is saying you have to have your dog in the crate all the time. However, it protects them while you are gone from chewing through electrical cords, drinking chemicals etc. It also gives you peace of mind knowing your puppy is safe until you return. It will also aide in house training as most pups won't potty where they sleep.

I dont understand the difference? Except that a crate is made of harder materials?
Crate training isnt cruel - dogs have evolved from wolves, making them den animals - most feel safe in areas like that, especially if trained right from a puppy.
I worked at a kennel and many animals felt very safe and were happy in their crate. Its like their own little personal area :)

First thing you have to do with a dog is us the same dry food. Dry food is the best because it cleans there teeth and it is not full of water. Until house broke, the dog should only be feed once a day at the same time every day. Walk the dog after you feed it. And I mean walk do not just stand there. Then walk him again a half hour after that. You should walk him as many times a day as you can until house broke. Walking helps it pass the food. Walk it in the same place every day. When they smell there own potty it makes them have to go. When the dog goes in the house, clean it up with vinegar. This does 2 things kills the smell+vinegar has a urine bass smell and the dog thinks you r marking this as your turf. When the dog goes in the house put the potty outside where you want it to go. Remember smelling his potty makes him want to go. So no potty smell in the house but lots of potty smell outside. You should have a pin or create just big enough for him to lie down. Most dog will not potty where they lay. Do not put anything in the pin that will soak up pee. When you are not watching your dog, he should be in the pin. If he goes in the house, you should catch him in the act and grab him and yell no then take him outside. Clean it up and take the potty outside. So to rap this up. Walk him as much as you can tell him good boy when he goes outside. When your not watching him keep him it the pin. When he goes inside tell him bad boy and take him outside..

That's a carrying case, which looks fine if you are taking her somewhere, but that is no place to sleep and call her own, dogs usually love crates because they have a space to call their own.
It's a good idea to get the crate, they aren't cruel unless you actually lock her in there. (I don't think you will...)
Pet carriers are a different idea, get both crate & carrier, you'll have one satified pup!

I took my dad and mom' dogs to Petco for coaching approximately 8 years in the past and, finding back, i assumed their coaching procedures have been unnecesarily tough (numerous yanking on the leash, jerking the dogs into place, and so on). yet I had never experienced a dogs before so i did no longer truly know to any extent further proper. I went back to Petco some years in the past, this time with my own dogs, and the version in coaching procedures replaced into night and day. i do no longer know if the corporate replaced their puppy curriculum or if the instructor simnply had her own suggestions and ideology, however the dogs responded greater proper and that i felt like a nicer individual. on condition that then i've got performed numerous reading. i've got study numerous coaching books via diverse authors and tried diverse techniques on the three canines I at present have at abode. The procedures you utilize ought to remember on the variety you as a individual experience approximately donning them out, and likewise on the character of your dogs. the final analysis, in my opinion, is that the greater you recognize, the greater you have have been given on your bag of tricks! ANY coaching classification is going to be powerful, and it truly is nice on your dogs to have interplay with different canines interior the classification. and it truly is significant to enhance what you have found out, on a daily basis, at abode. i know my answer is long, yet i'm hoping it enables :)

I think the dog will shred it. I've crate trained two dogs and they did great. Not cruel at all - they liked their crate.
